The weeks go by and things change for some people, but not everyone. Lydia officially broke up with Jackson, which everyone that knew was happy about. Lydia always felt like she was on a tight leash in that relationship anyway. It's a good thing she got out when she did. Liam has gone on a few dates with the new girl, Hayden. They both seem to really like each other and are keen on seeing each other more often. They are easily able to make each other laugh. Kira has started talking to Malia. They have actually started to become friends. Both of them are too shy to admit their true feelings yet, but they have definitely gained progress. Isaac and Allison got together about four weeks after the locker incident. They both are happier than they have been in a long time. They are each other's light in the darkness. They seem inseparable. Allison still helps Isaac with his French homework, of course. However, there's a bit more making out on the sofa than there once was. Both of them genuinely care for one another and hope that their relationship will last. Neither of them think of this as just the 'rebound'. They both know that their is something more. That they are starting to fall in love with one another.

However, nothing changes for Stiles and Scott. Stiles deliberately avoids Scott wherever he can. If he has to be anywhere near Scott, he'll just ignore him, no matter how hard Scott tries to grab his attention. Stiles knows that this is stupid. That he expected this to happen. He didn't expect things to work out between him and Scott. Sometimes things are just not meant to be. Yet, Stiles' heartbreak is agonizing. It never leaves him, not for one moment. It feels like his heart is trying to claw its way out of Stiles' chest and escape. Stiles hopes it succeeds. Maybe then Stiles won't have to feel anything. Emotions just cause pain and suffering anyway. Stiles is miserable. That's clear to anyone that cares about him, including his dad. Of course, the Sheriff asked why his son was upset, but Stiles lied and told him it was nothing and that he'd be fine in a day or so. The truth is that Stiles wouldn't be fine in a day. He really liked Scott. He almost had worked up the courage to tell him who he really was and that he liked him. Stiles never wanted Scott to find out that stuff in the way that he did. However, Stiles doesn't know if he can trust Scott again. Scott's just like every other popular kid in the school. Stiles doesn't want to forgive Scott for what he has done. His excuse for attempting to beat up Isaac was complete bullshit to Stiles. He knows that people make mistakes, but there is a point where people consciously make decisions that inevitably lead to those mistakes. At least he has Malia to comfort him through this time. Isaac does too, but he is spending more time with Allison, so neither Malia or Stiles see Isaac around as much.

As for Scott, he's suffering too. The guilt of what he's done and the need for Stiles to forgive him is weighing on him heavily. It's almost as if those pressures are trying to suck him into the ground and disappear from the world forever. Scott hasn't felt this alone before. He lost one of his best friends, he lost his girlfriend and he lost the person that could always make him feel better and make the day just that little bit brighter. Scott is grateful that he still has Lydia, Kira and Liam there beside him, but Scott still does feel like he has lost it all. Scott doesn't know what to do. He doesn't know how to convince Stiles of how truly sorry he is and how awful he feels about the whole incident. Soon, Scott becomes friends with Allison again, once he has completely gotten over the break up and accepted it. Allison is more than happy to be friends. Surprisingly, Scott talks to Isaac too. Slowly, they become friends. Who knew, right? Scott is grateful that Isaac did forgive him for what he did earlier. Unfortunately, Isaac's best friends aren't as forgiving.

Scott walks into the cafeteria once his AP Biology class finishes. The subject was hard and the teacher really pushed her students, but Scott knows that it's important if he wants to become a vet. Deaton, his boss at the animal clinic, thinks that Scott will do just fine and become a brilliant vet. Scott hopes that he's right. He sits down at an empty table. He glances around the room to see all the other tables filled with laughing and happy kids. He spots Stiles and Malia sitting on one of the corner tables. Scott catches Stiles' eyes for a moment. Scott's heart starts beating faster and he suddenly feels nervous. These reactions remind Scott of the time when he first started dating Allison. He felt the same way then as he did now. Well, minus the guilt, shame and embarrassment. Scott and Stiles continue to stare at each other until Stiles rolls his eyes and quickly looks away from Scott, focusing his attention back on Malia. A few seconds later, Lydia and Kira sit down in front of Scott, pulling him out of his wandering thoughts.

"Hi." Kira greets Scott in a friendly tone.

"Hey Kira, hey Lydia." Scott says, trying to maintain a cheerful tone, but it doesn't exactly work too well. Kira and Lydia excuse worried looks. Suddenly, Liam sits down at the table too, munching on an apple. "So, what did you think of today's biology lesson?" Lydia asks Scott, trying to distract him from Stiles, who she knows that he is obviously thinking about. "Um, good, I guess. It was a little hard at times, but your notes always make it easier, Lydia. I just wish the teacher wouldn't set us so much homework though. It's like she expects us not to have anything better to do with our lives. Does she even know that we have lives?" Scott replies. Lydia and Kira nod in understanding.

"You didn't get any food?" Kira points out as she picks up her own sandwich, noticing that Scott doesn't have a tray or any food with him. "No, I'm just not hungry." Scott shrugs.

"Everyone gets hungry, dude." Liam says as he stuffs a piece of chicken into his mouth, his apple placed on his tray, completely disregarded for the time being. Lydia gives Scott a pointed look. "You need to eat, Scott. I swear you haven't eaten anything at school for days. Please tell me you're eating at home at least." Lydia frowns worriedly.

"Yeah, I am eating at home, I just can't do it at school. I feel too guilty. Or I feel so nervous that if I eat anything, I swear that I'm going to be sick." Scott explains to his friends. They all look at him sympathetically, not sure what to say. Suddenly, Allison plants herself down next to Scott. A second later, Isaac sits next to Allison. "Well, I guess we are going to have to do something about that, aren't we?" Allison says as she turns to Scott. It doesn't take a genius to know why Scott was feeling nervous, scared or guilty all the time. "Yeah, but what?" Scott asks his ex-girlfriend while raising an eyebrow. "I fucked up, Allison. Big time. I don't think there's any way that I can fix it." Scott sighs sadly before getting up and leaving the table. He almost runs out of the cafeteria, afraid that he might cry. He can't be seen like this, especially by Stiles. He runs to the boys locker room and sits down on the bench, placing his head in his hands.

Meanwhile, Scott's friends are discussing what they should do about him and Stiles. They know that Scott would rather be alone right now, so they decide not to follow him. "Maybe I could talk to Stiles? He would listen to me." Isaac suggests hopefully. "It's worth a shot, I guess. But what if it doesn't work?" Kira frowns.

"Well, prom is next Friday. Isaac, if you could convince Stiles to go, maybe something could change for them there? When they see each other at prom, maybe they'll want to work out their differences?" Lydia suggests.

"I guess that's the best plan we've got." Liam concedes.

"Who are you guys going to prom with anyway?" Kira asks her friends curiously.

"I'm taking the new girl Hayden. We've been dating for a couple weeks now." Liam says proudly.

"I am going by myself. I haven't been to a prom as a single girl before. I'll spend the night with my friends and enjoying myself instead of trying to impress some guy that will turn out to be an asshole anyway." Lydia replies.

"I will be taking Allison, of course." Isaac says, giving Allison a quick peck on the cheek, causing the girl to giggle.

"What about you, Kira?" Lydia asks curiously.

"I think I'm just going to go by myself..." Kira says quietly, a small blush appearing on her face.

"Hey, that's not a bad thing. If you want to, you can come with me. As friends, of course." Lydia offers kindly. Kira looks over to the strawberry blonde girl. "Yeah. I would like that. Thanks." Kira smiles happily. Lydia nods in acknowledgement with a smile on her face. "I'll pick you up from your place at 6:30pm on Friday night then." Lydia says. "Sounds good to me." Kira chirps. The conversation then continues to turn away from the Scott and Stiles problem as the teenagers get more excited about prom and discuss what they're going to wear and how they might get to prom. It is a night that they will remember for the rest of their lives, after all.
