The Klingon Conquest

I was both Captain James T. Kirk of the starship Enterprise, and Lauren Schmeltzer, the simple girl with no title as of yet. Scotty had informed me of a plot the Klingons had to take over a Federation planet, and I agreed to beam down to be some sort of spy. I got in the transporter, dressed in servant/slave clothing, and beamed down to their capitol, where it was very dark from the night.

I saw several slaves slip into the largest building, constructed of blue brick and mortar. I quickly realized that they were headed for food, so I followed, realizing that I, too, was hungry. We passed by a room, where I very briefly saw a darkly-skinned woman perched atop a golden throne, and dressed in fine robes.

I continued to follow the slaves as they climbed a staircase that led to the roof of the building. As we passed the table with food, I was suddenly no longer hungry. Then I suddenly saw a view of just two black people, obviously Klingons. By now I decided that races like klingon and human, adapted different skin tones like black and white, klingons being black, humans and Vulcans white.

One of the Klingons was sitting on a throne on the roof, and much like the woman below, he was dressed in a way that clearly indicated royalty. I instantly knew he was the leader of the entire Klingon Empire. A younger man, apparently some sort of assistant, walked up to him and bowed.

“Your Majesty,” He began, “There is one servant unlike the others, he is greater.”

The king told him to go get this servant, and my view suddenly switched back to myself, at the bottom of the stairs. I saw the assistant race down the stairs toward me and grab my arm, and assumed that I was the ‘greater servant’.

We walked up the stairs to where the Klingon king was sitting and he spoke, (Feel free to laugh, dreams always have some sort of weirdness to them) “I hear you are greater, servant. You shall be called Korin, and you will join me and my family for the football viewing party.”

I nodded and bowed politely, perhaps I could learn of the Klingon’s plans to take over this planet. The setting suddenly changed, I was sitting right outside a smaller house in the middle of the night, sitting in front of a ‘fire’ that was completely ice. The King and his family, two women and several men that were his servants, were standing around a fire about ten yards away. A television was apparently inside the fire for them to watch their football, I now regret not asking them what teams were playing, and which ones they wanted to win.

I began to shiver, trying to warm my hands by the ice fire, when the Klingon’s daughter walks by and sits on a chair a few feet away from me.

“Hi,” I said through chattering teeth.

“Why are you cold?” She asked.

I laughed and replied, “I don’t know, Klingons are supposed to have a higher temperature so they can easily stand the cold and…promise you won’t tell anyone?”

She said she wouldn’t and I quietly whispered in her ear, “I’ve been feeling a little like a human lately.”

She gave me a thoughtful look and replied, “Don’t worry, that horrible stage happens to all of us.”

I was amazed at her acceptance, but held back from displaying it as I asked, “What are you named?”

“Amanda,” Was her reply.

I smiled as she walked away, knowing I had made a new, good friend. While we conversed, I felt such strong friendship for her; it felt like it would tear me in two.

With a broad smile on my face, the setting suddenly changed again. I was completely Captain Kirk, still dressed in servant robes, but holding a giant wad of hair and a popcorn bowl. I was smiling, knowing somehow the Klingons intended to take over the planet with these items. I grabbed my communicator and told Scotty to beam me aboard the Enterprise. While I waited, I played with the wad of hair and peeled it apart, almost vomiting at the way it looked. It was well over a foot long; light brown, and very sticky and gross. The Klingons are despicable.
