Since their engagement was made official, Damon and Amelia had never been seen happier, and had barely left each other sides. The celebrations were cut short, when something else came to light, that brought hope they could get Bonnie back. In the cemetery, outside the Salvatore crypt, they found her teddy bear from 1994. They found Ms Cuddles.
At first, the Evans girl was beyond confused, until Damon explained it all to her. Explained about Kai, the prison world, and what the past four months had been like for him. Since he came back, they hadn't had that conversation, and had only heard what everyone else had heard. That Bonnie wasn't with him, and she'd found peace.
He had expected her to be mad, but instead, she was happy. Bonnie was her friend, and if they could get her back, it would be like a dream come true. So, deciding to follow a lead about the Gemini coven to get what they'd need to get Bonnie, she, the two Salvatore's and Alaric hit the road to Portland. It was Thanksgiving, and even they Caroline had planned 'Friendsgiving for them all, they still left to follow up this lead they had.
"Huh." Amelia said, as she leaned back against the car they'd rented, watching as the brothers pulled their stuff from the trunk. "Only ten angry messages, two voicemails and one missed call. Caroline's taking my absence rather well."
Damon snorted. "That's your definition of well?"
"For Caroline Forbes it is." She retorted, taking her bag as he handed it to her, and slipping it on her back with ease. "I'm skipping Friendsgiving. I was expecting a much worse reaction from her. I mean, she trusted me to bring Pumpkin pie. It was a big deal."
The Salvatore rolled his eyes, as he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling Amelia against his chest. She leaned her head back on his shoulder, grinning up at him, before diverting her eyes back down to her phone. He watched as she text Caroline back, kissing her temple a couple of times, trying but failing to distract her. They had time to kill, while Alaric dealt with a phone call from Elena.
"So." Stefan intervened, as Amelia began to able Damon's side playfully, having been listening to their conversation carefully. "You two were invited to friendsgiving?"
His brother nodded. "Of course. Caroline demanded we bring string beans, along with the pie."
"Uh huh." The younger hummed, taking in the information.
"Why?" Damon asked, raising a brow, a teasing look forming on his face. "Where you not invited?"
"No, he was not." Amelia answered before Stefan could, shoving her phone into her back pocket, and giving the boys her full attention. "I helped Caroline write out the guest list. She refused to put his name down."
"Ooh." The eldest Salvatore smirked. "You messed with the wrong girls feelings."
The Evan girl scoffed. "That's a understatement."
Stefan rolled his eyes, walking away from the pair, silently mulling over his face. The couple exchanged a look, sniggering a little, before Damon halted it by pressing his lips on hers. She melted into it, turning around to face him properly, pulling him closer by his shirt to deepen it.
Though, what was a pleasurable moment, was ruined by a voice coming from Alaric's phone. "What do you Bonnie's in the Prison world? Damon said that she wasn't there, that she found peace with... Why didn't he tell me this?"
Elena's voice broke the couple apart, as Amelia clenched her fists, groaning in annoyance. Even with no memories of Damon, the doppelganger knew how to get between them, even if she wasn't meaning to.
"Maybe cause I had other, and frankly better, priorities to be taking care of." Damon replied, not a care in his tone, his eyes not leaving Amelia as he did to make her realize, she was his better priorities.
