I pull away from him and rested my head in hands.

I can't believe that Ben has the right to waltz in my life again thinking that everything will be okay. Why is he doing this to me?

"Jess. What's wrong? Did I do something?" He asked concerned

"Yes, Ben. You did something wrong. Why do just waltz into my life? You left me alone. WE WERE BEST FRIENDS, BEN. And you promised that we'll go through everything together!" I shoved him

"You know why I had too. You were in a life or death situation. THEY HELD YOU AT GUNPOINT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. THEY LET YOU HAVE  SCOPOLAMINE BEFORE THEY KIDNAPPED YOU AND IT WAS STRONG ENOUGH SO YOU WON'T REMEMBER EVER BEING KIDNAPPED. AND I WAS THE ONE WHO BRUNG YOU TO THE HOSPITAL. I DIDN'T WANT TOO BUT I DID BECAUSE I HATED TO SEE YOU IN THAT LIFELESS STATE. SO, I'M SORRY FOR SAVING YOU BECAUSE I FELL IN LOVE WITH YOU."

"Ben, can't do this right now." I said getting up

"Jess, please. I didn't mean upset you. I just wanted to make things right again."

"Just leave me alone."

"Why? Is there another guy?" He spun me around

"No, there isn't."

"Then why do you want me to leave you alone?"

"Because the people you love, you have to let them go," I said wiggling my wrist out and ran

When I got out of FootLocker, I had no idea where my friends went until LaMelo Ball gave me a call.

*on the phone*

J: Out of all people, who knew LaMelo would be the one to call a girl first?

L: Hey! I call girls all the time!

J: Sure.........

L: Hey, where are you?

J: Footlocker on Broadway, why?

L: I see you right now....! In the light blue Tesla

J: Please don't tell me you're pulling up.....

And he pulled up.

"Hey, JD. What are you doing alone?" He rolled down the window

My real name is Jessamine-Devyn. But I go by Jessamine a lot instead of JD or Devyn.

"I was trying to get away from someone..."

"And who--

"Jessamine-Devyn Thompson, we have to talk about us!" Ben came out of the store

"Get in the car!" LaMelo said

I quickly got in and he sped off.

"I knew you were pissed off at him." He said as we waited at the red light

"Yeah, he kissed me after a long time."

"How long ago?"

"Try after we graduated high school....."

"Damn."

"So, where are your friends?"

"Coney Island, I drove my car because I knew that you left your friends and I thought you needed a ride."

"Or did they put you up to this because they got bored without me?" I said as we started driving again
