*~*~*~*

Two weeks later

I'm walking back "home" when I hear I rasping noise behind me. I turn quickly to see what it is, and to my horror I see a monster. Why is a monster following me? Oh no it's coming closer. This is like a really freaky video game, I think. I should call for help. I whip out my phone and call Percy's cell phone. He doesn't live too far from here.

"Hello?" I hear Percy's voice say.

"Percy help there is a monster following me!" I say panic creeping in to my voice.

"Where are you?" Percy asks. I tell him and he tells me to find somewhere close by to wait for him.

"Ok hurry!" I say. I look around for somewhere safe and I spot an over turned boat. Perfect. I run towards it and crawl under. I risk a peek at the monster, it's about a block away sniffing the air like a dog. Percy better hurry. 1 minute goes by. 2 minutes. 5 minutes. I risk another peek at the monster. OMG it is right in front of me! Ok what can I fight it with? I look around in the boat. I see a book, a flashlight and an air horn. Ok I can smash the monster with the flashlight and signal Percy with the air horn. Ok 3 2 1...GO! I jump out from my hiding spot and to my surprise I see Percy standing over a pile of ashes.

"Woah! Hi Percy." I say.

"You ok?" He asks.

"I'm ok. Just a little shaken up." I reply.

"Come with me, I'll take you to my house. You can sleep there for the night." Percy offers.

"Ok. Sure." I except. Percy puts a protective arm around me and we start to walk to his house.

I haven't slept in a real bed since I can't even remember. Normally I sleep in the lifeguard head quarters first aid bed. To make it look like I have some where to stay I'll just wander around till it gets dark then I'll go back. My mom died when I was born and I've never known my dad. I've lived In foster homes and orphanages all my life so sleeping more than 5 hours is a luxury. Let alone sleeping in a real bed. Wow sleep felt good.

                    8 hours later

I wake up to the smell of coffee and pancakes. Food. Real home cooked food. I get out of bed throw my Lifeguard uniform back on and race into the kitchen. Where Sally and Percy eating blue pancakes. They have a thing for blue food.

"Good morning Glowbo." Percy says.

"Good morning Salty." I retort smiling at the nicknames we gave each other when we where little. Salty for Percy because he always smells like salt, and glow for me because Percy says that my silver eyes (yes I said silver) always seem to glow. I grab a blue pancake and take a big bite out of it.

"Do you have to work today?" Percy asks.

"Yup. You?" I say.

"Yeah" Percy says.

"Sweet we better be going. Thanks, Sally for everything" I say. Percy gets up and kisses his mom on the cheek.

"Bye mom." He says. We start the short walk back to work.

As we walk I can't help but think about last night. "Percy, why do you think that monster was following me last night?" I ask.

"Lisa" his expression looks almost painted "I don't want to tell you this but I feel I should. I think that you are a demigod."

"Woah slow down. What? You think I'm a demigod? Why?" I inquire.

"Well I can't really explain it but I have this feeling." He says.

"Oh a feeling well I must be a demigod since the almighty son of Poseidon has a feeling." I say sarcastically.

"No really Lisa, I think you should come to camp half-blood and see if you can get in." He says.

"What's camp half-blood? And what do you mean by get in?" I ask.

"You'll see. We're skipping work today." Percy says.

"Well why not! Then I can prove that you are crazy." So off we went to camp half-blood.
