Twelve marks in the calendar.

Twelve water drops in the glass.

Twelve tears drops.

Twelve minutes to midnight.

Twelve. Twelve. Twelve.

She used to count everything. The days. The months. The seconds. Even her breathing was made in a twelve in twelve out interval. Every single day, at noon, she made twelve pushups. Her week wouldn't be complete without tidying her closet in twelve neat piles of clothing, each one with twelve items: twelve coats, twelve skirts, twelve shirts, twelve shoes.

Twelve was in everything.
