It's been 5 years since me and Ava called it quits, every part of me just wanted her back in my life, she still worked with Zak and Aaron after Jay went his separate way Riley was growing up fast and started helping out with the audio, thanks to Zak and Billy teaching him how to do everything, today was his 13th birthday and Zak and Ava threw him a party, Zak told me that he wanted to see me so I called Ava and asked her what she thought

Ava: hello?
Jayk: hey Ava, I thought I would call to see if it was alright with you if I come to our son's birthday
Ava: yeah, he wants to see you Jayk he misses you so much, he needs you
Jayk: I know I promised him that I would visit every chance I could but the tour has---
Ava: it's always the tour Jayk, you can't keep breaking your promises to him, you don't know what it does to him, he cries himself to sleep every night, he really misses his father Jayk, you need to be here for him
Jayk: I know I haven't been keeping my promises to him but I will be there, I'm not doing anything now, if you wanna come get me
Ava: I will have Zak go get you but you better be here I hate it when you break your promises to him
Jayk: ok I will be ready just have him come get me please Ava

Ava: he is on the way to go get you please be ready when he gets there and bring him a birthday gift
Jayk: what does he like? I will get it
Ava: he likes singing, you should hear him he has an amazing pitch
Jayk: really? I thought he would have gotten your amazing dance skills
Ava: he is like you in every way, he really wants to be a singer just like his daddy, please come Jayk he isn't the only one who misses you

I seen Zak pull up in the driveway and I walked outside after I hung up with Ava, I locked the door and got in the car, he started driving back to his house, after we got there I got out of the car and walked inside, I seen Ava in the kitchen, I walked up behind her and put my hands over her eyes

Jayk: guess who

Ava: this isn't funny, I'm trying to prepare a cake for the birthday boy

I moved my hands and she turned placed the cake on the counter before she turned around and looked up at me

Ava: I'm glad you are here Jayk

She laid her head on my chest and I pulled her toward me

Riley: hey mom I found the--

Ava: where did you find it at Riley?

Riley: it was under in the uncle Zak's room and why is he here?

Ava: for your birthday of course, he is your father after all and you only turn 13 once

Riley: I'm going to go help mr. Billy with the food, do you need anything else mom?

Ava: no you can go outside if you want and take Ollie with you

He told Ollie to come and they walked outside together

Jayk: he didn't look very happy to see me

Ava: well he will be fine, he just needs some time Jayk and you haven't been around to come see him since he was 8 years old, how did you expect him to act?
