~Five~

A/n: Ooh, Jaden.....why.

I apologize for all Rivalshipping content. And what my sister may or may not include in this chapter.

Chazz's POV:

I stood on the duel stage, in front of the whole school, ready to duel the girl opposite me. Y/n L/n.

Y/n had been explained to me by Crawler as an excellent student, a good duelist, using a powerful Spellcaster deck. Her ace monster, I heard, was Dark Paladin, which may prove a formidable opponent.

Said girl stood across from me, shuffling her deck smartly. "You ready, Chazz?" she asked with a smirk.

I nodded, shuffling and placing my deck. "Ladies first."

Y/n drew five cards. "All right! I'll start by summoning Peten the Dark Clown! Then I place one card face down and end my turn."

I drew a card. "I'll summon Armed Dragon LVL 3! Then I play Mystical Space Typhoon and destroy your facedown! Finally, Armed Dragon LVL 3, attack her Dark Clown!"

Y/n's LP dropped to 3000 (idk on the LP count, bear with me here). She winced.

"And with that, I'll end my turn," I said.

She drew. "I activate Peten's special effect! Now I can summon another Dark Clown from my deck. Then I sacrifice him and summon Dark Magician Girl!"

I gasped. "I thought only Yugi had her!"

Y/n smirked. "Then I activate the special effect of Peten- again! I summon him, then I play Black Magic Ritual! Sacrificing Dark Magician Girl and Peten the Dark Clown, I summon Magician of Black Chaos!"

"No way!" I exclaimed.

"Then, I'll play Pot of Greed and draw two cards!" She whipped two cards away from her deck. "I then play Future Fusion, and fuse Buster Blader and Dark Magician in my hand together to form Dark Paladin!"

The monster appeared on the field, and I gulped.

She grinned. "Finally, I place one card face-down and end my turn."

I gritted my teeth. "All right, L/n! Since I destroyed your monster last turn, I'll upgrade Armed Dragon to LVL 5! Then I'll place a face-down and end my turn." That was all, since both her monsters had more attack points than mine.

Y/n drew. "I play my spell card, Polymerization!"

"But you don't have any monsters to fuse!" I exclaimed.

She smirked. "Think again. I fuse Dark Paladin and Magician of Black Chaos to form the ultimate Spellcaster- Dark Paladin of Chaos!"

I was staring down a monster with 9000 attack points, one that even Yugi, the King of Games, didn't have.

"Dark Paladin of Chaos! Attack with Dark Magic Strike!"

My dragon disappeared, and all of my LP with it.

"Looks like I won! So you have to tell me what you were thinking," she exclaimed.

I stood up carefully. What do I say?

What do I want to say?

L/n, I was an idiot. I'm sorry that ever happened. Can we forget about it?

"I love you."

My hand slapped over my mouth, eyes widening. Did I just say that out loud?

Her eyes widened slightly too. "Chazz....do you really love me?"

I hesitated, then nodded.

She stared at me for a few seconds, then nodded. "Thank you, Chazz," she said.

Thank you for what? Admitting my feelings- finally? Embarrassing her in front of the whole school?

"Thanks for being that brave," she added, smiling and walking off the stage.

I was left standing there like an idiot while the whole school left, muttering something about, "Slifer," "hormones," and "puberty."

"WELL WHO ASKED YOU??" I snapped at them.

The Chazz was back in control.

Y/n's POV:

I sat on Zane's desk chair, mulling over the duel.

"Looks like I won! So you have to tell me what you were thinking," I exclaimed.

He hesitated before saying, "I love you." Instantly his hand went over his mouth.

"Chazz......do you really love me?" I asked.

He nodded.

Chazz Princeton.

This whole time.

I sat back in the chair, almost unaware of Zane's eyes on me. I was only fully aware when he said, "Do you love him too?"

"Yes. No. I- I don't know," I stuttered.

Zane got up and walked over to the desk chair, crouching so he was eye level with me. "If you're not sure.....how can you watch him so much?"

"Huh?"

He smiled at me. "You watch him. You may not notice it yourself, but ever since he's come back, you've kept one eye on him. He never noticed, but I did."

At this point, my brain put everything together. Two plus three equals five.

If Zane had noticed that I maybe sorta watched Chazz a lot......he was watching me.

"Oh," I said, sitting even further back in the chair.

Zane gently placed a hand on my shoulder. "If you love him, that's okay. But-"

I shook my head. "I'm- I'm just not sure."

The Obelisk leaned forward and gently brushed his lips with mine. "Let me know when you figure it out." He stood and flopped onto his bed.

I watched him fall asleep immediately, then I left, headed for my own dorm room.

Two boys fought in my head.

My best friend.

Or my rival.

I wasn't sure which was which.
