The rest of the week went by pretty quickly. Grace and I were still awkward because, you know, she's my teacher and stuff. I became closer with Charlie, but I made sure Isabelle didn't tell her about her little theories. Going home was finally okay for me. I avoided unnecessary conversation with mom and used homework as my excuse to stay in my room all evening. Usually I just laid on my bed and read history books all evening.

Susan was now back in New York, so Grace was alone and asked if I wanted to have dinner together tonight, I agreed.

Although I guess not everything is fine. I had a dream a few nights ago. A dream about Grace. We were on a date in a park. She held my hand as I fed her sushi takeouts. We kissed and walked around the park. I guess it made sense, to have the dream, I liked being with Grace. We understood each other and were comfortable around each other. She made me blush more than normal and I couldn't forget when she kissed someone else in front of me. I just never realised because it was weird to think about, she's my teacher and six years older than I am.

I called Isabelle and asked her if I could come over for lunch, I needed to talked to someone about this. Isabelle agreed and asked if I could buy pasta takeouts on my way to her house.

Which is why I'm sitting in a pink room eating pasta with my best friend right now.

"So, what's up?" Isabelle said, "I know you didn't come here to catch up, I literally saw you on friday"

"Uh, well, actually" I said, trying to explain what I wanted to say, but nothing seemed right.

"Wait, let me guess," She stopped me, "Grace?"

"Uh, yes, Grace" I admitted.

"Ha! What did I say! You like her, don't you!" It was worded like a question but we both know it was a statement.

"No, I don't think so.."

"Why not?" She asked.

"She's my teacher, she's older and way more mature than I am" I explained.

"Kara, age isn't a good enough excuse," She sighed, "and I know you won't believe me when I say this, but I think Grace feels something for you too."

I thought about what she said. I mean, Grace did get me a beanie, but I'm pretty sure theres nothing more than friendship.

"You're right," I said, "I'm not believing that."

"I'm just saying, be positive, don't think about reasons why you shouldn't like her, just figure out if you do first." She said, "You're going to dinner with her tonight, right?"

"Yeah," I said, keeping in mind Isabelle's advice, "At her house though, it'll be weird for others to see us together"

"WELL HELLO" Isabelle shook me by my shoulder, making it hard to not spill my pasta. I managed to not, though.

"Wow what's that for?" I said, when she finally stopped.

"For an opportunity to be alone with Grace?" She rolled her eyes at my stupidity.

"Oh," I realised it was a good deal, to be alone with Grace in her house meant we could be ourselves. I liked it when Grace was serious in class when she's teaching but, nothing beats casual Grace.

"You should be, grateful, or should I say" She faked a cough, "Graceful"

"Get out" I rolled my eyes.

"No thank you I am staying in my comfy room," She said, "you are the one that's getting out. You have a date to go to."

"Uh, its not a date! and it's a few hours from now." I said as I showed her the time on my phone.
