There was a boy who smiled

There was a boy who's smile

Was bigger than all the others

And his laughter rang freely in the air

And his blue eyes shined

And complemented the sunshine.

The others loved the way he lit up the world.

One boy in particular loved him

A bit more than the rest.

There was a boy who's smile

Was bigger when he was near

The one that he loved

His lips pressed against those of his lover

And his grin was forever painted.

The others spoke in hushed whispers.

One boy in particular

Didn't quite understand why.

There was a boy who's smile

Was stripped until is was faker

Than the loved that he was forced to share

With a beautiful stranger.

The others thought this was a good idea.

One boy in particular

Sat in his bed alone to shed his tears.

There was a boy who's smile

No longer shined like it used to

And his laugh hadn't been heard in ages

And his skin was cold with anger.

The others didn't think anything of it.

One boy in partcular

Couldn't stand to see him broken.

There was a boy who smiled

One last time

As he looked into his lover's eyes

Before letting a tear roll down his cheek

And jumping from his place

And learning how to fly.
