One Of Her Kind

We became friends. We were each other's first hello and last goodbye. We made each other our priority. We used to talk on the phone often, for hours. We thought nothing can come as an obstacle in between our friendship.
One day I was so bored that I made her a call. Her mother picked up the receiver and I conveyed my warm greetings to her. Soon she passed the call to Shreya. And the best way to compare her voice was that of Shreya Goshal herself. It was just so sweet and so soft that I could talk to her through a telephone for ages. It was 10 at night. We talked till 4 in the morning. That 6 hours of funny, emotional, dramatic, promising conversation came to an abnormal sudden end. The last half an hour of the phone call was just unbelievable. I came to know that she was suffering from brain tumour. Which was almost getting into the final stage. She further told me that her lower body was paralysed due to the same and she has her best friend "the wheelchair ".
I just disconnected the call. Without saying anything. Broken and disheartened I slept. Not at all accepting the fact that Shreya was really "one of her kind".  As in a tender age of 12, I didn't understand what a Tumour was, but I knew that it was dangerous.
