Snakes of glowing blue twitch beneath my wrists
Ivy fingers twist around my paper fists
Slivering pathways of iron blood
Blood of mine, shared with the stars above
Iron formed in a star's burning heart
A long time ago, and in a sky apart
Yet now here it is, inside of me
Where it seems to have been meant to be
Maybe this explains our love for the stars
Maybe because their blood is also ours
Maybe it isn't the end when we die
Maybe we'll just return home to the sky
And when you feel you don't belong on Earth
Maybe it's 'cause a star gave you birth
