(Y/n)'s POV:
After my little scene, Bonnie and I finished our breakfast in silence. The phone rang shortly after we finished, and Bonnie rushed to answer it. "Hello? Who's calling?" Bonnie asked while leaning against the wall. I stared at him with my head resting on the palm of my hand. Bonnie's hair was slightly messy from sleeping, but I thought it looked adorable. He gasped happily and smiled. "Hey! How's it going! It's truly been a while. We haven't talked in quite a while huh? Yeah, I know right? Oh yeah we're going to be painting today, you wanna join? Alright, I'll see you later. Bye!" Bonnie talked on the phone. I was wondering who he was talking to. He seemed awfully happy about the caller.
"Oh, sorry about that (Y/n). A friend from high school is coming to see us. She's gonna be helping out with some painting today. Won't that be fun?" Bonnie asked with a bright smile. My expression was blank. It was a girl he was excited about. I lowered my head a little and nodded. "Yeah...that sounds fun..." I mumbled sadly. I put my plate in the sink and shuffled upstairs before Bonnie could say any more to me.
Bonnie's POV:
I watched as (Y/n) shuffled up the stairs. I frowned and looked at the dishes. Did I do something wrong? What could make her upset just like that? Was she secretly jealous of Baby? I sighed and walked into the living room. The TV turned on, and I flipped through the channels. I saw the movie (Y/n) and I watched the other night together. Quickly, I got away from the movie and turned on the news. I haven't showered yet, and I probably should before Baby arrives. Turning the TV off, I headed towards the bathroom that was downstairs.
While in the shower, I thought about what I could have done. The burning hot water ran over my body, and steam clouded my vision slightly. Slowly sliding down the wall, I held my knees and cried in the shower, letting the water burn my skin each time it touched it.
I looked at myself in the mirror when I was finished. My skin was tinted a red colour now, and that didn't look good with my pale skin. My face was tear stained from crying in the shower, but it didn't quite match the rest of my skin. I sighed and got dressed before blow drying my hair. I let the water run down my face as my hair dried. My crimson eyes were slightly duller, and my lilac coloured hair wasn't as lilac coloured as it usually is. I wondered if I was going through some stage of depression and everything is simply...dull.
I shrugged on a jacket and plopped on the couch. I didn't bother turning on the TV because there was nothing good on anyway. (Y/n) still hasn't been downstairs since Baby called, and I was really starting to worry. Thinking about her some more, I decided to go upstairs and check on her. God only knows what she's doing after all. I tip toed up the stairs, and thankfully she didn't hear me trip. Slowly, I made my way to her bedroom door. There was no noise coming from inside there except breathing, and I started to worry even more. What could she be doing that isn't making any noise? Then, I heard mumbling...
I couldn't quite make out what she was saying, but I knocked on the door nonetheless. "Hey (Y/n)? You want to help me pick out the colorus?" I asked, hoping she'd say yes. I gulped nervously and didn't know what to expect. I heard shuffling move towards the door. It opened slowly, and (Y/n)'s face was visible. "Are you alright?" I asked. She nodded. "Sure...I'll help you pick the colours..." She replied quietly. I frowned and engulfed her in a tight hug. "What did I do to make you sad, (Y/n)?" I whispered into her ear. Tears threatened to fall, but I forced them back.
After we picked out the colours, there was a knock at the door. (Y/n) dashed to the door and answered it. "H-Hello there..." She stuttered quietly to the guest. I walked up behind her and smiled at the guest.
"Hello Baby! I'm really glad you were in town. Please, come in." I said. I rested a hand on (Y/n)'s shoulder to comfort her and myself. I could only hope that Baby didn't catch that I was crushing on my foster child. She probably already thinks we're boyfriend and girlfriend anyway. "So...who's this girl?" Baby asked with suspicion. "Uh...h-hi...m-my name's (Y/n)...I'm Bonnie's f-foster child..." (Y/n) mumbled quietly. My heart broke hearing her scared and quiet voice. "Oh! I was worrying for a second Bon Bon! I thought she was girlfriend. I'm happy to hear she's just a foster child." Baby exclaimed with a false sense of cheerfulness. I began to feel uneasy because of Baby's tone. Maybe I shouldn't have invited her to help us out.
"(Y/n), you wanna go out and start the car?" I asked Bonnie. She nodded slightly and grabbed the keys off the hook and walked outside. I sighed and watched as my girl walked out the door without a hug or goodbye. Then again, she's just starting the car for me. Wait, does she know how? I completely forgot. "Hold on Baby, I'll be right back." I said as I dashed out the door to catch up with (Y/n).
(Y/n) turned around quickly and looked at me with confusion. "Why are you following me..." She asked quietly. I shrugged and took the keys from her. "I forgot you didn't know how to start the car, so I figured I would show you." I said with a small smile. She smiled and blushed slightly and followed me to the car. "You can sit up front with me again." I said with a wink. She giggled and hopped into the front and buckled up. "I'm gonna go get Baby real quick. Don't worry, I won't take too long." She nodded and shut the door.
I ran up to the house and opened the door. Baby was leaning against the wall with her arms crossed. "Are you sure that little scrub isn't your girlfriend? You seriously deserve better than her." Baby snapped. Thankfully, I don't like to fight people, so I didn't punch her in the face. I seriously felt like giving her a nice kick in the gut. After all, it was out in the open and a perfect shot for anyone to take. I growled slightly. "She is NOT my girlfriend, but she is NOT a scrub. She's my foster child, and even if she was my girlfriend, you wouldn't have a say so in how I live my life. I invited you because I thought we could catch up on things that's been happening, but no. I didn't invite you to hate on my daughter. So, if that's all you're going to do, you're welcome to leave right now." I said to her. "Now get out of my house." I snapped. I pushed her out and shut the door behind me. I marched down to the car and got into the front seat.
(Y/n) looked at me with worry. I saw fear in her eyes, and I couldn't feel anything at the moment. I've never felt so angry before, honestly I haven't. Even after I got framed for Tonnie's senior prank back in high school. Maybe I was just so protective of (Y/n) that anything said to her that's negative sets me off. Do I really want her to be my girlfriend? My hands latched onto the steering wheel, and we were out of the driveway. I assumed Baby wasn't following me, and I was actually happy about that.
"Bonnie? Are you alright?" (Y/n) asked with caring eyes. We had just pulled into the parking lot of Lowes. I stopped the car and looked at her with a fake nod. "Yeah, I'm alright." I lied to her. I didn't like to lie, especially to (Y/n), but I didn't want her to worry. I heard her buckle click, and next thing I knew (Y/n) was sitting on my lap again. I was a little shocked at her actions, but I was complaining either. She cupped my face with her gentle hands. "You're not okay Bonnie...I can tell. You can tell me what's the matter, but I understand if you don't want to as well." She said softly. I smiled and pulled her closer. Our lips brushed against one another, then I closed the space. She held me tight as our lips moved together in sync. It was the best feeling I've ever had.
