The night was so amazing. Everyone was greeting me and I felt very accepted by the pack which made me feel great.
It was about 12:00 and people started to leave. I sat in the bar drinking water because I had a killer migraine. Drew was saying goodbye to his family and told me he would meet me when he was done.
I felt a presence behind me so I turned around not expecting to see who I saw. Gabriel stood there with a look like he's wasn't expecting me either. "Oh sorry. I'll leave you be."
"No, it's fine. I was going to leave when I finished my water." I said and patted the chair next to me. He gave me a smile and sat on a stool.
"You made a good impression on my family. All night they were saying how beautiful and humble you are." He said pulling a bottle of whiskey from behind the bar.
"Thank you. They are all lovely and I feel so welcomed." I said. I was sort of uncomfortable having a conversation but not that much and I could sense he knew that.
"I just wanted to say that I know they told you about what I did in the past and I don't want this to be awkward." He said looking down.
"I am not one to judge. I didn't know you then so I can't judge you for what happened in the past."
"Thank you," he took a drink of the whiskey. "I've done a lot to this family and I'm really trying to redeem myself. I've caused so much heartache and drama to my family and this pack that I can never take back. I really do aspire to be like my baby brother. He is such a good leader and he is so humble. All I can ask for is his happiness and my brother seems beyond happy with you. Thank you for making him happy Halle."
I sort of teared up. I know I didn't know him in the past but he really seems like a nice guy. I don't want to just judge him and not give him a chance. "Thank you, Gabriel. And I know that your changing. We all make mistakes but we just have to prove ourselves to not be as we were in the past."
"I agree." He said with a smile. "I needed that talk with you. Thanks. I'm going to go rest up for the night. Goodnight Halle."
"Night Gabriel."
I sat on my phone in the bar for a few more minutes when I felt warm arms on my wait and a head placed on my shoulder. I turned around and kissed Drew's warm cheek.
"Tonight was so exhausting. I'm ready for bed." He said helping me from the stool.
"Me too. I had a blast though. The pack really made me feel special." I said grasping his had as we went up to the stairs.
When we got to his room, he gave me a shirt and a pair of sweats. I hopped into the shower and washed my body and hair. I dried off, pulled my clothes on, and brushed my hair out.
Drew was lying on his bed in sweats. I climbed on the bed and sat crisscross next to him. "I talked with Gabriel tonight."
He looked at me. "I know. I heard the very tail end of it."
"He really is nice. I'm not going to judge him for what he's done because I didn't know him. But he said some really nice things about you and us." I said playing with Drew's fingers.
"That's one of the things I love about you. You don't judge quickly." He leaned up to kiss me. "I've decided to give him a chance. If you can trust him that gives me even a better reason too."
