tyler's fingers fumbled as he played with the hem of his sweater, legs crossed over as he sat on the carpeted floor of brendon's room with the raven haired boy.
it was their first time hanging out alone and the atmosphere was very different than it was with josh around, much less rowdy and loud. the two boys were watching a movie together as they slowly crept closer, quickly finding themselves cuddled together as they enjoyed the close proximity between their warm bodies.
tyler felt guilty, though. it had been a few days and he still hadn't told brendon about the kiss he shared with josh. he was scared of hurting brendon and losing him as a friend, because that was the last thing he wanted. he swallowed any source of doubt that clawed at his throat, pausing the movie as brendon snapped his gaze up curiously.
"is everything okay?" he asked worriedly, eyebrows drawn together in conern.
"i have to tell you something," tyler breathed out, composing himself as he tried to pick the right words for his next sentence. "josh and i kissed."
brendon stared at him blankly for a few moments, face holding no emotion, before he turned back to his laptop with a brief shrug of his shoulders.
"cool," he mumbled, but tyler could hear the hurt buried beneath the nonchalance he masked his words with. "who kissed who?"
"it was kind of mutual," tyler said, trying ty decide whether or not he should tell brendon that josh likes him too and that he himself had feelings for him. he blurted his next words before thinking, "i like you, and josh likes you too, and he knows you like him, and i just-"
"wait, slow down. you and josh both like me?"
tyler nodded and felt his cheeks flush pink, gauging brendon's reaction.
"well thank god, i like you guys too," the dark haired boy exclaimed nonchalantly, taking tyler by surprise. he wasn't expecting such a casual reaction, especially since he couldn't think of a reasonable solution to having three people like each other. they were still pressed close together, in the same cuddling position they were in during the movie, and tyler began to wonder how brendon's lips would feel against his own. would his lips be soft like josh's, or rough like his own? would he be gentle and slow or would he be desperate and needy? the list went on and on but every outcome made tyler giddy and excited.
brendon seemed to be reading his mind as he leaned forward a bit and allowed their mouths to mold together, a feeling that was still so foreign to tyler but he had grown to love it. since he had his first kiss with josh a few days prior they had shared numerous kisses and make out sessions and tyler had become confident in his abilities. josh had led him through everything and he felt like a pro despite not knowing anything about kissing until very recently.
brendon was just as soft as josh had been, in every aspect of the word, and he loved every minute of it. he was a bit more hesitant with his movements, presumably from a lack of experience that josh didn't have, but it was just as amazing as every kiss he had with josh.
they pulled away with large grins on their faces, brendon still cupping tyler's cheek as he stroked his thumb over the soft skin in a fond manner.
"now all we have to do is get you and josh to kiss," tyler giggled, enjoying the way brendon chuckled but nodded his head in agreement.
"hopefully that won't be too difficult. until then you get the both of us all to yourself," brendon joked but tyler smirked, knowing it was true. he was still unaware of how this three-way relationship would work but he was determined to find a solution that would leave them all happy.
he needed to be in a relationship with josh and brendon, no matter how ridiculous it sounded.
