Chapter 4: Leaving for College (Max)

The next morning, Goofy was humming as he made breakfast for Max, or should we say, a feast. As he was walking toward the table with two large stacks of pancakes, Max came in on his skateboard and opened the fridge.

"Did you brush your teeth?" Goofy asked.

Max drank some milk out of the jug and answered, "Yeah, Dad."

"Comb your hair?" Goofy continued.

"Yep," Max said as he caught a piece of toast that just came out of the toaster.

"Did you put on clean underwear?" Goofy wondered.

"Dad!" Max scolded.

"Come on, Max!" PJ called from outside and honked the horn.

"Oop! Gotta go!" Max said and made his way to the front door.

"But, Max!" Goofy called.

Max made it outside and tossed his bag to Bobby who was on the roof of the van. Bobby fell in the van as Max went in the passenger seat.

"Goin' already?" Goofy asked as he caught up to his son.

"Yeah. I gotta get there early for freshman orientation, Dad. See ya," Max waved as the van started backing out of the driveway.

"What about breakfast? You need your three squares a day, you know," Goofy pointed out.

"Don't worry. We'll pick up some donuts on the way. Love ya! Miss ya! See you at Christmas! Bye!" Max assured as the van drove off and they all cheered.

"Don't forget to have some milk with those...donuts!" Goofy called out then mumbled, "Good-bye, my little college man."

He sadly went back inside and up the stairs. He walked down the hallway until he looked in Max's now empty room. He walked in near tears as he picked up one of his socks, folded it neatly, and placed it in the empty dresser. He looked in the mirror to see Ol' Stuffed Bear on the bed. He walked up to it and sat down. He held the bear in his hands.

"Gawrsh," Goofy spoke softly and squeezed the bear.

He took another look around the room and hugged the bear as he cried.

A/N Goofy already misses Max, so now what can he do?
