"Are you ready, my love?"

You and your boyfriend Dazai stood atop a horrifyingly tall building. You were shaking, and could hardly breathe. Sweat toppled down your face. Despite your state, Dazai stayed perfectly fine, smiling at you.

"You'll be fine. Once we jump, it'll only take a few seconds and we'll be able to see each other again. I promise." Your boyfriend took your hand and squeezed it reassuringly.

He had chosen you. His beautiful woman, to accompany him on his ride to the afterlife. However, you didn't feel as privileged as you expected yourself to. Instead, you just felt pure fear.

The wind had started to pick up. Dazai's hair flew elegantly in the direction the wind was flowing. He still had a smirk on his face. You edged closer to the ledge.

Unintentionally, you stepped on a pipe. It was rusty and shook. You couldn't do anything. Your foot became stuck underneath it. Everything moved fast. Way too fast. The pipe broke off completely. Dazai looked in shock as you slipped off the edge.
