Ok so I based this off of me and my gf and I have a story for them both.

This is bloodstone. She has a dangerous power that allows her to control the light that makes up gems. As such, she's seen as dangerous. Frightening. A monster. However, in actuality, she's a scared young gem who wishes for a purpose. She's constantly pressured by her commander to be useful, and so when she uses her powers in battle to drive of an army of crystal gems, she's rewarded with a pearl.

the pearl is a confused, defective pearl who cannot comprehend homeworld society and her place in it. The bloodstone takes the opportunity to find a person who isn't afraid of her and as they begin to bond, Bloodstone begins to understand how nonsensical homeworld society is and the next time they go to Earth, to fight crystal gems, they run off to join them. There, they learn that you don't have to conform to what homeworld wanted you to. Also, pearl realizes that he doesn't like being called she. And they learn how to fuse...
