A few days pass, you're at your work at the office. It's break time now. You're in the break room with a few colegues, sipping coffee and chatting a bit. They're talking about boring stuff, and you can't really blend in. So you decide to stand by the door to have a little space and rest. You haven't really felt nice ever since your mother died, you still think about it a lot. With a sigh you take another sip of your coffee and close your eyes. You're getting depressed, still you try to stay positive.
When you have almost finished your coffee, you hear people walking by in the hallway. You turn your head to the dooropening. A group of men who work here walk by, speaking softly about work. Then your eyes widen in surprise. You see a tall blonde man with shining blue eyes among the group. It's the guy from the bar! You keep looking at him untill he walks around a corner and dissapears from your sight. "I didn't know he works here..." You say softly.
With the image of the handsome man still on your brain, you head back to your workspace. Back to finishing reports and other boring stuff. Then your phone buzzes. You check the screen to see what it says. It's a message from Mikasa. "It's Christa's birthday this weekend. Shall we celebrate it in the bar we were at last weekend?" Then another message follows. "Sasha and Ymir think it's a good idea. You comming too?" You smile and reply positively. "Good! See you at work later!" Mikasa says. Then you put your phone away and get to work again.
But you can't really concentrate. The fact that the handsome man you saw at the bar last weekend works here too is incredible. It's not weird you have never seen him before. It's a big building you're working at, every day you spot at least a few people who you haven't seen before. Or you just forget their faces, because there's no need to store all that information in your memory. But you know for sure you've never seen the blonde guy before, you would have remembered him otherwise.
At that same moment, Erwin enters his office to continue working. He shares his office with another man. A short black haired guy named Levi Ackerman. Erwin sits down and wipes his blonde hair back, Levi looks at him with a cold glare. "How'd it go this time?" He asks.
Erwin yawns and stretches before answering. "What do you mean?" He asks. Levi sighs and rolls his eyes. Erwin knows damn well what Levi's asking, he just likes to mess with him from time to time. "Fine... Just the same as always. Met her on tuesday in the park, dumped her on saturday at the bar. Nothing new..." Erwin says as he logs in on his computer. "Why do you still feel the need to ask?" Erwin looks at Levi who is typing really fast on his keyboard.
He looks up again. Looking at Erwin with cold eyes. "Because you need to stop." He says. Erwin shrugs and grabs a few papers out of his desk. Levi sighs. "Erwin, you're a wealthy, well mannered, adult man. Do you really think it is natural to treat young women like that?" He asks. Erwin raises one of his bushy eyebrows, questioning Levi's remark. "You do realise they're people too, right?"
Erwin sighs and starts typing on his keyboard. "They're all fake. Not a single woman I've dated truly loved me. I'm searching for the right one, that's all." He says calmly. Levi and Erwin both continue to work for about an hour in silence. The only sound is the buttons on the keybord being pushed. Then Levi breaks the calm atmosphere by putting away a pile of papers and grabbing a new one. He sighs and repeats what he has been doing all day. Erwin sees the tired expression on his face. "Looks like you cloud use a drink." He says.
Levi raises one eyebrow as he looks up at Erwin. "Drinking at work... Really?" He asks, slightly annoyed.
"No, I mean that we should grab a drink sometime soon." Erwin says. "This saturday, at the bar nearby perhaps?" He asks. Levi sighs and frowns a little. "What? Did I say something wrong?" Erwin asks.
"No. I'm just not much of a drinker, I prefer tea actually. And I still have stuff to clean up at home. I don't want to waste my time sitting in a bar." Levi says as he flips a sheet of paper to see what's written on the other side of it.
"Just relax for once. You're always so worked up about everything." Erwin says. He leans back in his chair and smiles slightly. "The drinks are on me. And if you want to leave early, I'm not stopping you." He says.
Levi sighs again. "Fine, I'll go." He says. "But if you start hitting on girls there, I will be out of there before you even notice." Levi says as he starts typing on his keyboard again. Erwin happily goes back to work. He feels somewhat proud to get Levi to come with him. Usually he rejects any invitations to a party or something similar. He will only attend important things, like a wedding or a funeral.
Then Erwin notices that his blatter is reaching it's limit. "I'm taking a quick bathroom break." He mutters to Levi as he stands up. He leaves his office and walks down the hallway. Once he's sitting in one of the stalls (he never uses the urinals, they're gross in his opinion) and is doing what a person has got to do every now and then, two other men walk in, stand by the urinals and strike up a conversation.
"Have you ever been to that café three streets away from here?"
"You mean the Chinese one? With that cute looking octopus above the entrance?"
"Yes, that one. But it's Japanese, not Chinese. Have you been there?"
"I've walked past it, but I've never been in there. Why?"
"It's great. The food is really good, and it's being served by adorable looking maids. We should go there together sometime."
"Sure, whatever. I'd like to try it."
The two men leave, after washing their hands of course, and leave the bathroom again. Then Erwin flushes the toilet, gets out of the stall and washes his hands. "Maybe I should try it too sometime..." He thinks.
