Chinese have many dialect, like example Cantonese, Teochew, Hokkien,Hakka, Shanghainese, Mandarin. You guys will learn in this book is Mandarin. Mandarin is a basic of Chinese.
Other than that, different country has different pronunciation. Mandarin is official language of Taiwan and China . Example, Malaysian's Chinese. They like to say lah, loh, ah... at the last words. Ex: 我们一起去啦！
wǒ men yī qǐ qù la！
Let's go with us lah!
But this is for casual Malaysian's Chinese.
