Benedict guided Charlie along the red carpet gently. She smirked at the tenderness in which he touched her, as if she may break.
"Benedict, Georgie was born almost 3 months ago now, you don't have to treat me like I need to be wrapped in cotton wool." She said. He sighed and motioned in a way that suggested he understood, but didn't care. "Are you up to your usual antics tonight?"
"Of course." He said, shuffling next to her as a picture was snapped.
"I'm surprised they still invite you." She murmured through her smile.
"They love it, it gets all the media attention." He said back, dismissing her doubtful looks.
She sighed. Of all people to attend the Oscars with, she had chosen very poorly. Benedict not only knew everyone, but everyone knew him. And therefore, everyone knew her.
"Benedict, how come you're which Miss Howards tonight?" A reporter shouted. Benedict and Charlie moved over to talk to the woman.
"As you well know, I'm starring in the new Star Wars. And Charlie's in the next one. We're good friends, both our partners are on babysitting duty. We thought, hey, why not?" Benedict said cheekily. Charlie smirked.
"So, Charlie, any news of taking time off to recover from the recent birth of your daughter?" The reporter continued.
"Well, until the Star Wars filming, I'm not going to be doing a lot of live action." She said.
"Will the new Disney movie, "Breadcrumbs" be part of your break from physical acting?" The reporter asked.
"Well, yes. I've already started recording some testers for the animation of Gretel and some voice samples. But obviously, not going to start properly until later in..." Charlie began. She became distracted though. Benedict was dashing through the crowd towards a large posed picture of the Matrix cast. Before Charlie could so much as sigh, he had leapt into the air. The picture was taken, with Benedict smiling like an idiot above the head of the love interest. "Fantastic."
