The hands are as big as the shoes. For the left hand you might want to remove part of the body. Unless you're choosing a different position of Sonic. Here's how they work:

The left might be messed up, but what matters is actually the wrist part. If you look at the wrists on both hands, they're different. It depends on the way the arms are going, and which arm it is.
Last tip for the hands, I would look at my own hands, and draw the form that it's in. It helps me a lot.
