(2-D's POV)

I woke up to the smell of stale cigarettes. I looked to my side and saw Murdoc next to me. I don't even remember the last time he smoked, I guess the smell just sticks to him. It was an oddly comforting smell, mostly because I knew it was Murdoc and no one else.

"Mornin' luv." I heard Murdoc grumble. The vibrations from his voice made me smile. "Mornin'." I said back, pulling him closer. I heard him chuckle a bit and pull neon top of him. I didn't try to hold myself up, I just plopped on top of him. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed the top of my head.

"We should probably go record some songs, luv." He says, sitting up slightly. I nodded, almost getting off of him, but how could I forget, I'm a child and he has to carry me everywhere. I giggled as he scooped me up bridal style. "I really am going to forget how to walk one day." I giggled, and he shrugged. "I'd rather have you this close to me." He said, a small smile growing on his lips.

We got to the studio and recorded the rest of the songs for the plastic beach album. Well, the ones that I sang in. My favorite was either, Stylo, Rhinestone Eyes, or On Melancholy Hill.

We finished recording and we're finally able to relax.

"You want time to take you somewhere, you'll like it, it'll be like a late birthday gift." Murdoc asked, hope filling his eyes. "Sure!" I chirped happily. We got into the car and sped off. "You're going to get arrested one day." I tell Murdoc as he speeds through the highway. "They've gotta catch me first." He said with a devilish grin.

We soon reached an empty field and got out of the car. "Here we are." He said, parking and getting out. I did the same and looked around. It was beautiful.

There were multiple flowers of different kinds everywhere and the grass was so green. The sky looked like it was painted with watercolors. "Mudz, when did you find this place?" I asked, astonished. We both sat down and he held my hand. "I used to come here when I was a kid, to get away from everything. I was thinking one day and it reminded me of you." He explained, looking at the sky. "How did this remind you of me?" I asked, looking up at him.

He took in a deep breath. "It's beautiful here, and I think that you, well you're the most beautiful person I've ever seen. And the sky reminds me of you. Your personality mostly. You're always so happy, or at least you try to be." He said, finally looking me in the eyes. I was speechless. He smiled and I smiled back. He made me so happy. I could never thank him for how much he's changed my life.

(Trigger warning)

"I used to be suicidal, Mudz. I used to feel you hurting me and I thought that I deserved it. I even, I.." my voice trained off. He lifted my shirt up and saw what I was talking about. "Stuart. I've known ever since I saw you without a shirt for the first time. I saw the fading scars. They were scars, yes, but I got so happy because there were no new ones." He said, putting my shirt down and rubbing my sides.

I smiled widely, pulling him into a hug. He held me as if I were his lifeline. His reason to live. He didn't know it, but he's the reason I never ended my life.

(TW over)

"I love you, Mudz." I said into his neck. "I love you too baby boy." He said, rubbing my back.

All of the 'love' I've ever felt has never been close to this. He made me feel safe, protected, wanted, needed.

I would do anything to save him.
