the blood dripping off of your nose,
the first color on the rainbow,
often shaded in the drawing of a heart,
your heart beating when you speak to that certain one,
firetrucks speeding down the street,
a cardinal chirping in a tree.
red,
that sharp taste of blood when you bite your tongue
after eating a cherry,
with a drink of fruit punch.
the trickle of blood that drips off your arm,
a person holding onto their rubies,
and a hungry teen eating a hot treat.
red,
red can be somewhat bittersweet.
