Dear black child,
Learn to love your hair. Love the kinks, the curls, the coils. Don't not label your hair nappy and ugly for its what god gave you and you are a blessing. Don't let others ruin your perfection, don't change to fit into a world that wants your culture.
Dear society,
You can not take my Afro, you can not take my dreads, my braids my culture. You have brainwashed me since I was a kid to be more like you, to have pin straight hair, red hair to lose my identity to fit into a world that does not want me. You can not take my culture, my essence and make into the hot new trend. You are not African queens.
Love,
Future you
