Yanjmaa trudged through the high grass, her wolves silently following at her heels. Occasionally, she would stop to feed her wolves bits of dried mutton she kept in her pack. After days of walking, she smelled cooking meat and followed her wolves towards the scent. A single ger, in the middle of the woods. She knocked on the wooden door with horses carved into it. A woman a few years older than her, followed by a large, stocky man that Yanjmaa recognized from... somewhere, answered. "Come in. You look hungry," the woman said. The man interrupted. "Yanjmaa? Is that you? You haven't changed one bit, sister, with you and all your wolves." Yanjmaa laughed and hugged her older brother Daritai, who had always protected her against the wrath of her six younger siblings.

"Why are you here? I heard news that you were becoming a shamaness," Daritai said.

"I... decided to run away. Like you did. And now I have this letter, and my wolves, and I have to go. Now! They could be dead by now, for all I know!"

Yanjmaa ran out the door without even a farewell- and minus one wolf.

Qara was gone.
