Chapter 10: Percy POV

"And what would we be talking about? Because I sure as hell have nothing to say to your deranged face. No wait, I will be the bigger person here and not be degrading when it comes to physical appearances, so I'll just say that you have a repulsive personality, and you should just give up and leave." That is what I wish I had said to my oppressor when I had the chance, but all I did was stutter my first word that came out of my mouth.

"So the little hero has nothing to say." Nuena said, chucking at my discomfort.

"No, I just think that it is weird talking in the middle of a war zone. Which us quite unnecessary may I add." I responded, hopeful that my fear wasn't evident in my reaction.

"Well if you insist." Nuena cackled, waving her hands in some sort of spell creating motion. She started to spin some sort of mist, and wrapped us both into it, almost like a blanket. The mist started to blur my vision, but as I tried to cry out, nothing happened.

Suddenly I was in a room. Not like some creepy haunted room like you see in scary movies, but a southern style ranch house's sun room type vibe. The pastel blue walls and yellow furniture kind of threw me off, but I was most definitely not complaining. This was not the worst thing that could've happened.

"So, we are now not in the middle of a war zone." Nuena stated, breaking the silence.

"Where are we?" I asked, very persistent.

"Somewhere in southern Florida, it's quite humid if you must know." She responded, fidgeting, although I didn't know why since she was the villain here who had me in her grasp.

"So what do you want from me? You brought me here for a reason." I said, staring directly at her.

"I just need to kill you and this will all be over. I will get revenge and bring Milana back, I just need to kill you." She said, although I felt like she was trying to convince herself more than me.

"I feel like you are being overdramatic." I shot back.

"Well I feel like you should be dead!" Nuena cried.

"Whoa there, too far." I said, using my hands to tell her to chill.

"Is it really? Is it?" She smirked.

"Wow. You totally got me there." I said sarcastically.

Nuena just pouted over dramatically and crossed her arms at that. She then floated over to a portrait of a very pretty girl. But something about the picture offset me a bit, for the girls eyes were of pure gold, and although this seemed to be a very high definition picture, the edges looked blurred as if she was floating.

"This is, or was my sister." Nuena smiled sadly at the frame.

"I'm so sorry." I responded truthfully. I honestly was, because I automatically assumed that those monsters that I killed on the daily had no life, no aspirations, nothing human about them. But Nuena was honestly the most human out of anyone I had ever met. She felt more, and had the most flawed but genuine reactions, but she was still evil.

She looked up at me mournfully. "I know you are, but that doesn't change a thing, I still have to kill you."

"But..." I began. However before I could continue, Nuena lunged at me, tackling me into the wall. We both tumbled through the fake wall and back onto the battlefield where my friends seemed to actually be doing pretty good.

"This is war." She snarled into my ear, then flinging me down into the ground, as we were mid air when she was holding me by my shirt.

"You forgot something, you can't attack me because I'm still stronger than you." I smiled, remembering the princess bedroom prison.

"What do you think I have been doing? I've been indirectly attacking you from the start you idiot." Nuena practically screamed.

She did not just say the "I" word.

"Don't. Call. Me. An. IDIOT!" I screamed up at her. The entire field went silent. I was having a "Back To The Future" moment, but instead of hating being called a chicken, I couldn't stand when people called me an idiot, or something else of that sort.

I began building up a surge of energy in my body, as if I had collected all of the power in the world into my chest. In a moment, I released it, sending a wave of almost visual energy across the war zone. It knocked everyone down, yet somehow I couldn't see my friends at all. I was worried that I had accidentally hurt them until I saw that everyone had brought a shield and had hidden under it. Those crazy geniuses.

I looked around and saw that every single monster had disintegrated, except Nuena. Of course. "Can't you just stay dead?" I yelled up at her.

"I'm... alive?" Nuena whispered. Not a moment later did she seem to drain of all energy and drop to the ground. She landed on the Earth with a thump, and we all rushed over to her decaying body.

I looked at her neck and saw the ruby pendant dangling limply on her chest. I unclasped it, not knowing what to do with it, but then something came over me. "I release you." I whispered into it.

I set it down on the ground and backed up slightly to see a red glow encasing the jewel. The light started to expand until it took the shape of a human, then burst. It bursted almost like a firework that was set on the ground, so we all instinctively shielded our eyes from the damaging rays. When we looked up, we all saw a girl standing in place of the light with honey blonde hair and freckles spotted over her nose.

As I looked into her eyes, I saw that same pure gold that was shown in the portrait in the room. I then realized that that room must of been part of their home.

"Milana." I spoke up, not daring to step any closer.

"Thank you." She smiled back at me. "You have rid my sister of the evil lurking inside of her. When I was around her neck, I could see her demons, the ones that haunted her, and the ones that toyed with her emotions. Now I only see peace within her."

Milana walked over to Nuena's lifeless body, and lay her hand on Nuena's forehead. Suddenly she shot up, full of life. Nuena smiled warmly in our direction as she took Milana's hand and disappeared.

"I'm glad that this is over." Annabeth spoke up, walking towards me, encasing me in a bear hug.

"Me too."
