Storm

Deep in ocean blue
The colors of life look on
For they've never seen anything as true
As the power of a storm

When it floats on water
It is gentle and calm
Almost completely unknown to the land's spotters
As it approaches, the wind and water sing it's psalm

It values creation
And is thankful for only strife
It shocks an entire nation
It's seeming calmness, in reality dangerous as a knife

No single person could anticipate
The amount of strife
The storm brings with the fate
To take a single life

And as people learn to realize
What a storm brings when it comes
Calm, they continue to idealize
And remain twiddling their thumbs

And it happens again
Without a thought processed
How could the storm have come across the bend?
Without being addressed?

How many times
Must it happen
Reciting their lines
As their rehearsed remorse snaps in

Leaving you breathless, alone in your storm.
