Nerdfighters

Our life is full of John Green books,

As well as tissues and tears,

DFTBA's,

And smiling from ear to ear.

Our thoughts are stars we cannot fathom into constellations,

As they have their faults,

Towns are made of paper,

As fragile as they seem,

Their whole world can come down,

In just a simple page.

Our life is full of truth or dares,

And lots and lots of pranks,

Many to be continueds to be broken the next day,

And white tulips in the back seat as she instantly passed away.

Our life is full of little infinities,

and  fears of oblivion,

Sweet boys with an artificial leg,

and Phillip, the oxygen tank.

You may see us uncontrollably crying in a corner,

Suffering the emotional trauma at the hands of a paperback,

I'm in love with cities I've never been to,

And people I've never met.

But that's the thing about pain,

It demands to be felt.

What a treacherous thing to believe that a person is more than a person,

Maybe there's something you're afraid to say,

or someone your afraid to love,

Or somewhere you're afraid to go.

And it's going to hurt.

It's going to hurt because it matters.

But I don't think you can ever fill the empty space with the thing you lost.

The truth is the world is not a wish granting factory,

You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world,

but you do have some say in who hurts you,

And when they try to minimize your pain,

they are doing you a disservice.

The marks humans leave are too often scars,

I'm not saing that everything is survivable,

But the future is unpredictable.

Alaska is no longer just a state,

And Hazel is more than just an eye color,

They aren't just books,

They are much, much more,

They are a way of life,

No different then yours.
