"Auston"
I looked away from my phone and smiled at my mom.
"Ready to go?"
I took a deep breath and nodded as I stood up. Once I buttoned my suit jacket, I followed her out of the room.
"Let me fix that tie of yours"
As we waited for the elevator, she fixed my tie for me.
"I'm so excited"
I smiled and let her hook my arm with hers.
"I know I'm not the date you wanted to bring"
Mom was not very happy when I told her that nothing would ever happen between Maddy and I.
"But let's make the best of it"
I nodded.
"You look beautiful mom" I told her.
She smiled.
"Thank you mijo"
The red carpet was painfully long, and as much as I was used to the heat I was not used to wearing a suit in that kind of weather.
"You look nice"
"You...need to put on more clothes" I replied to my youngest sister, Breyana.
She rolled her eyes and looked at dad.
"You two are horrible"
Alex smiled at her.
"Wait till you start dating"
"We don't talk about that. She's not allowed to date until she's 18" I stated.
Dad nodded agreeing and Mom laughed.
"Alright, let's go to our seats"
I put my arm around both my sisters as we followed our parents.
