April 2nd, the day everyone arrives back at Hogwarts from their Easter Break. Things were rather different, standing side by side on the train platform, holding hands was James and Lily. They were together now, the story of how that happened was long and Jasmine didn’t really know the whole thing.
Jasmine and Emma had been dragged along by Lily (who had been dragged along by James). Jasmine was standing beside Remus on the platform, both of their hands itching to grab one another’s but they both refrained.
Jasmine could tell Emma was nervous; she was going to see Regulus for the first time since the announcement, it would eat her up inside. And it did, Regulus and Emma’s eyes locked, and Emma turned and ran from the train station. There was several seconds hesitation from all of the group as they watched her run, before Sirius took off after her.
This greatly confused Jasmine and she too was about to chase after the two of them when a hesitant ‘Hello’ from Peter distracted her, and when she turned back, she had lost sight of them. James and Remus lifted Peter’s bags and carted them up to the school.
If was roughly an excruciating hour and a half before Lily and Jasmine saw Emma again. She slowly walked into Jasmine and Emma’s dorm to be greeted by Jasmine who was slumped on her bed, and Lily slumped on one of the other Ravenclaw girl’s bed. The two girls swarmed Emma giving her big hugs and whispered comforting words. Emma was calm for all but ten seconds before she burst into tears and sunk to the floor. Lily and Jasmine Both leant down with her as well, hugging her close, though Jasmine was slightly worried.
Emma was always strong, she never, never cried, ever! She was always the strong one, never cried, never broke down. After Emma calmed herself from the breakdown she went into the bathroom and washed her face to clear her puffy eyes and the three girls headed down to the great hall for dinner.
They all sat down at the Ravenclaw table, Emma spending the entire time looking silently at her plate and Lily and Jasmine spent the entire trying to cheer her up, it didn’t work. At the end of the dinner, Jasmine felt kind of bad sneaking off from Emma and Lily to see Remus.
“I’m worried about her, Rem. She’s never been like this, ever! She never cries, she always has to comfort us, not the other way around!” Jasmine quietly ranted to Remus, swinging her arms wildly.
“Sirius feels guilty too, like he still has some rein over his family, but her really doesn’t. It’s rather stupid really.” Remus grumbled back, trying to sound annoyed but only succeeded in sounding worried. They continued in this line of conversation for another fifteen minutes but neither coming up with an idea of how to make their selective friends happy.
Jasmine’s head rested on Remus’ shoulder for a selective amount of time, both just holding each other. Jasmine lifted her head, looked at him for a moment before reaching up to kiss him. It wasn’t that long of a kiss, merely several seconds before a startled gasp from behind made them both jump apart. Well not really, Jasmine was still wrapped in Remus’ arms. Jasmine was slightly confused to find no one there; she looked back to Remus, only to find his face wasn’t confused as she expected it to be.
Remus’ jaw was hard set, his posture stiff, he knew exactly what was going on; they had been discovered.
“Okay boys we know you’re there” he ground out, his jerky and stiff; not the usual sweet voice Jasmine knew. He wasn’t angry, more anxious. “You can come out now”
