Emily: It's kinda simple to explain. You see, some monsters and humans fell in love and made hybrids. Other monsters mated with different species of monsters, which made more hybrids.
Emily: So, off the bat, humans trusted hybrids. In fact, in the war, humans and hybrids fought side by side. In the end, humans asked hybrids to keep monsters from gathering the souls needed.
Emily: Years passed and more pure monsters hated hybrids, who lived in the ruins and forest. Some pure monsters tried to fight the hybrids to only find that there were more than they thought.
Zoey: Even though some monsters, like my dad, moved in with the hybrids!
Emily: Yeah. Basically is was grudge over the war.
