In class, all I was thinking about was Matthew. I propped my head on my elbow, tapping my pencil on my note pad. I remembered his phone number and slowly pulled my cell from my pocket and the napkin fell out along with it and my phone slipped causing a loud clatter. I cringed and heard the teacher already shouting about disrupting the class. I apologized to her, but she still sent me to the office. After waiting an hour, I got off with a warning. I slipped my phone in my pocket and walked my next class, forgeting about the napkin on the floor. Next in Math, I couldnt stop thinking about way Matthews lips moved when he talked. I shove my hand in my pocket feeling around for the napkin. 'It's....gone....IT'S GONE, WHERE IS IT' My mind shouted, rummaging through my pockets and My backpack. 'Shit,Shit,Shit,Shit....' I felt anger rising up at myself for losing it. The bell rang and I ran out of school, to the cafe. The cold winter air pierced my face and stung when it hit my cheeks and stuck to my glasses. I reached the cafe and opened the doors looking for Matthew. I saw him wiping tables and, of course, the butterflies started up again. I calmly walked up to him even though my body was freaking out. "U-um, hi..." I said to him, my chest exploding with so many different emotions. He looked up and smiled "Hey, Noah....was it? I was expecting a text or a call' he said and I could feel the heat spreading across my face and up to my ears. "Yeah, about the number, I..uh..I lost it.....at school" I said, playing with my thumbs and looking down. I glanced up and saw a confused expression, then he asked for a pen and he rewrote it on my wrist. His grip was gentle and warm, then he handed my pen back and smiled "There, now you won't lose it". I chuckled at his joke a little, looking away, thinking of how perfect he was. I said goodbye and walked out of the shop, thinking of how soft his hands were. When I got home, I immediately texted him in fear of the number washing off. All I said was 'Hey, it's Noah' and waited for a reply. And waited. And waited. I was so confused on why it took so long, so I plugged in my phone and laid in bed, hoping by morning there would be a text.
