One week later
As you quietly sit at the kitchen table with Calum and Alessia for breakfast, you wish you would've just stayed in bed. During the first couple of days of your "break up" (if you can even call it that) you were disappointed, sad, and mopey. The next few days following, you were still feeling a bit down and discouraged, but the happy couple, whom you seem to spend almost all of your time with nowadays, gave you a piece of hope by telling you that there was still a possibility that Lauren would change her mind and give you a chance. Now, by day seven of post "break up" and still no form of communication with the Cuban has occurred, you are beginning to feel agitated and angry,
I know I told her to think about it and then call me, but does she really need an entire goddamn week? You're brought out of your thoughts when you hear your best friend speak,
"Helllo— Earth to Planet Y/N! Can you pass me the juice?" Although neither people that you're with have done you wrong in any way, you can't control how you act when you're in this bad of a mood. You send Calum an annoyed look before rather aggressively sliding the juice to him via the table. Both Calum and Alessia notice your behavior,
"Woah... who pissed in your Cheerios this morning?" Calum jokingly questions, resulting in Alessia giving him a slight slap on the arm and sending him a look,
"Why hasn't she called me yet?" You ask, following with an angry bite of your toast,
"Y/N/N, Sweetie," Alessia calmly says, "The bread didn't do anything to you. Set it down and talk to us," you put the toast down and take a deep breath,
"I'm sorry for being like this today— It's just... I wish she'd let me know how she's feeling at least, ya know?"
"Maybe she's just very carefully thinking about what to do?" Alessia rationalizes,
"Or maybe she's letting the silence do the talking..." you allow your negative thoughts to be voiced,
"Call me crazy..." Calum chimes in, "But what about instead of sitting here and trying to play mind reader, you just go and talk to her?" After a few moments of silence, you speak up,
    "You're fucking crazy,"
"Although it's rare, I think he might actually be on to something here, Y/N/N," Alessia says,
"Aww. Thanks, Baby," Calum says while lovingly looking at his girlfriend, with her returning his gaze in the same way,
    Eww, I hate couples...
"You totally deserve answers, Y/N," Alessia says, breaking her staring contest with the Kiwi and getting back to the task at hand, "And if she's not willing to give them to you, then I say you don't give her another option besides talking to you,"
"Hmm— maybe it's not such a bad idea..."
"Hell yes!" Calum excitedly says, "I hate when you're in a bad mood. If I would've asked for you to pass me a knife earlier, I probably would've ended up with the damn thing in my eye!" You three all laugh,
"I wouldn't get your hopes up too high now, Hood," you say with a slight smirk,
    "And why's that, Y/L/N?"
"If she rejects me, I'm going to need to get my anger out somehow..." you trail off, trying to scare him,
"Les, we're going out of town for the night!" You laugh and continue to eat breakfast with your friends, albeit you can already feel your nerves beginning to build up for what's to come later on today.

As you stand in front of Lauren's door, you can't prevent your hands from slightly shaking every now and then, and you can't simmer the butterflies that seem to be flittering in your stomach, and you most definitely can not slow down your wildly racing heart,
What if she doesn't want to see me? What if she needs more time? What if she still doesn't want to be my girlfriend? Before you give into your instincts, which are to turn around and sprint back to your car, you ring the doorbell. As you stand there, waiting for the door to be opened, you try to picture what Lauren's reaction is going to be when she sees you,
Is she going to be shocked? Happy? Angry? However, you don't receive an answer at all considering the green eyed girl isn't the one who you're met with.

You can't help but stare at the shirtless man with a confused expression,
    Who the hell is this?
"Hey. Can I help you with something?" The man asks, looking you up and down,
"Uh— yea... I'm here to see Lauren,"
"She's in the shower right now," he casually says,
"Oh, well I'll just wait for her in the living room then," you say as you begin to walk into the house. Before you can fully enter, the man steps in front of you, stopping you,
"About that... She might be a while. I was actually just about to go join her before you got here," he cockily adds a wink, clearly not having any clue who you are, and you suddenly feel the need to empty the contents in your stomach,
"Oh shit," you say while stepping backwards, willing yourself to not cry. He lets out a little laugh, oblivious to the fact that you're upset,
"Yea, but I can tell her you stopped by or whatever?"
"Uhm— no, that's okay. She doesn't need to know I was here," you say as you start walking away, tears beginning to fall. You can feel his eyes staring at your backside as you near your car, and even though that pisses you off to a great extent, especially considering he's about to go fuck the girl you thought you would end up with, you can't seem to make yourself to care. You're too busy dwelling on the painful sensation in your chest, or better yet, how to get rid of it.

    8 hours later
As you sit at a random bar, having no clue as to what the name of it even is, you're having quite a difficult time seeing straight. As soon as you had left the girl's house who caused you to want to drink in the first place, you immediately drove to the nearest bar, that wasn't Joe's, of course. You've sat in the same spot at the bar for many hours now, drinking and thinking. You just can't seem to wrap your head around the most recent events that have occurred,
What is she even thinking? I thought she only wanted me? Why didn't she just call and say she was over me? Although the drinks have numbed the pain in your heart a bit, it's still there, nonetheless. You're also angry, at the green eyed woman some, but mainly at yourself,
Why did I let myself fall so hard, so fast? It's not like we're even dating, so I really shouldn't be this upset! The bitter thoughts and drinks are starting to make you feel queasy once again, you know it's time to head home. You pull out your phone and order an uber before exiting the bar to get some fresh air. As you sit on the bench outside, taking deep breaths to try to make yourself feel better, you can't help but wish that you could go back to how your life once was, before you coincidentally met the green eyed beauty. It's not like everything was perfect, that's rather impossible, but there was a lot of good going on at the time. You were happy (most of the time), had a steady relationship with an amazing woman, and you didn't feel guilty about anything, things were much simpler.
However, despite the circumstances, there's still that part of you that's glad that everything's happened the way it did. Even though she's currently causing you an immense amount of heartache, you treasure every moment spent with the green eyed girl. The long nights that you two shared together, whether it was for having deep, meaningful conversations, or for just laughing and making fun of ridiculous YouTube videos, you'd never want to erase those memories. Without even having talked to Lauren about your discovery today, you're already working on moving past it, in hopes of maintaining some sort of friendship with the Cuban in the future. As you spot your uber driver pulling up in front of you, you not-so-gracefully stand up and make your way towards the vehicle,
    Time to go home.

When the uber driver finally makes it to the address you told him, you somehow manage to stumble your way towards the desired door, which seem to take an eternity. It takes even longer to fish your keys out of your purse to unlock the door, hoping to silently sneak in and not wake anyone up. However, as soon as your foot steps through the front door, you hear an unexpected voice,
"Y/N?" Even though you should probably explain to the person why you're returning to the house at 2 in the morning, you're feeling so tired, and the couch you're staring at looks super comfortable. Without saying a word, you approach the couch and practically jump on it, falling right to sleep.
