the boat was moving closer to the docks as we separated. my eyes opening slowly as only the moons light could be seen as well as L.A.s city lights.
i looked up to daniel to see him already looking at me. i gave him a smile.
he smiled back calmly.
as the boat stopped he grabbed my hand and we walked out of the boat being greeted by jonah, alice, jack, ara, zach and keira. as they all directed their eyes down to our hands huge grins started to show on their faces as they started to clap.
my cheeks went flaming cheeto hot. as daniel just laughed and walked over to them with me following behind.
"congratulations!!" the girls spoke in sync.
"we're so happy for you guys." zach said.
"i'm throwing a party!!" jonah said laughing and gripping onto alice's hand.
everyone laughed except me and daniel who turned to each other and got lost in each other's eyes. even though the light was soft and dim i could still see those blue eyes i was glad to call mine hopefully forever.
"i'm serious guys," jonah continued whipping out his phone.
"inviting everyone i know!" he said excitedly.
"it's tomorrow at 7pm!" he exclaimed putting his phone away.

the next day
i woke up next to daniel with his arms wrapped around me tightly on the lounge. i must've fallen asleep next to him after we came home last night.
i checked the time;
3pm
wow we must've been tired.
i realised we still had that party today and i groaned.
daniel woke up and removed his arms from my torso along with the warmth he had given. i shivered adjusting to the temperature.
"sorry," he chuckled looking at me
"it's okay." i said smiling.
he nodded his head in return and got off the couch going towards the kitchen. i got up quickly and followed him.
i walked over to the window, rain.
i forgot about that broadcast.
"why wasn't it raining last night?" i asked hopefully.
"i don't know, maybe the universe wanted us to be together too." he spoke softly as i turned around he gave a wink. i laughed.
"still up for that party tonight?" he said turning back around to prepare some coffee.
i nodded.
"also want some coffee?" he chirped.
"yes and yes." i replied with a grin.
once the coffee was done he handed my mug and we walked down to the door to the deck.
he sat down and gestured for me to sit down next to him.
"mae" he cautioned
"yes dani?" i said
"don't leave me please" he mumbled.
"i promise i won't." i grabbed his hand while i said that and i gave it a reassuring squeeze.
he smiled at me and i smiled back.
we both turned our heads out to the rain with our fingers intertwining.
sitting with someone you love in silence is so wonderful, it brings such joy to both.
