(Y/n)'s P.O.V.
"Are you coming to my Christmas party?" Aphmau said, sprawled across the couch opposite to me.
"Eh you know me and parties." I shrugged and looked over to her to see a confused expression. "Ya know, I get to drunk, text my exes, do embarrassing things..." I elaborated.
"That's why we invite you!" Aph joked and I rolled my eyes playfully, "(Y/n) you haven't left this house in like three months." She whined at me, I sat up and crossed my arms over my chest.
"That is so not true. I've been going to the office." I defended myself. Aph gave me a sideways look.
"Once a week but you work from home dummy!" She laughed and tossed a pillow at me. I opened my mouth to speak, "Checking your mail does not count as leaving the house!" I shut my mouth and sat back. "C'mon you'll have fun." Aph was begging at this point.
"Fine. One hour, and you better have good drinks and snacks." I surrendered, knowing I would not win this fight, Aphmau is as stubborn as they make them. She squealed triumphantly.
"Can and will do!" She stood up, "I'm gonna go home and get things ready, I will see you in three hours!" Aph gathered her things off my couch and made her way out of the front door. I sighed, sinking further into the couch, I swear she only came here to beg me to come to this stupid Christmas party.
I dragged myself up the stairs to my room and headed into the bathroom to shower, I guess I should try to look decent for this party. After my way too long of a shower I hopped out and get changed into a not so ugly sweater and jeans with some fuzzy socks for added warmth while I put on my make up at my vanity. Of course I had to go for a Christmas theme with red and green, my lids packed with green shadow and a crisp red wing with some matching red mascara. A simple base of foundation and a little contour and a bold red lip.
My phone began to ring loudly, Aph's contact photo filling the screen. I sighed, I still had an hour before she wanted me there.
"Hello?" I asked putting her on speaker.
"(Y/n)..." Aphmau started, I squinted at my phone. Not that she could see the suspicion on my face. "Can I ask a favor? And you're not allowed to hate me or say no." I looked back at my mirror.
"What is it?" I asked, I could hear the guilt in her voice.
"So, someone doesn't check their mail so I'm not sure they got the invite, could you be awesome and ask them if they're coming?" She asked, her tone was pleading.
"Aphmau." I hope she could hear the frustration. "Who is it?" I swear to Irene I will lose my mind if she says-
"Zane..." I closed my eyes, "I know you guys haven't spoken at all since you moved in but I think he should at least know that he was invited, I don't want him to think he's excluded." She reasoned with me.
"Why can't you, better yet why can't we exclude him?? I mean he's the one who stopped texting back." I whined, knowing that there was little to no chance of me getting out of this.
"You're the one who decided to be home schooled! And you lied about moving to Washington. So really who's to blame." It wasn't a question, who to blame... I sighed, realizing and hating that she was right.
"Fine, but there better be hot cocoa and peppermint schnapps or I swear!" I threw down my eyeliner dramatically.
"Thank you and you love me, okay bye see you soon!" Aph spoke quickly into the phone before hanging up, leaving me in my existence.
I'm somewhere between angry and sad and awkward. I finished getting ready and pulled on my favorite boots, grabbing my bag and leaving, locking my front door behind me. I walked down the steps of my porch and stopping. My breath catching at my throat.
