"You-"

He started slowly.

"You can be anything you want."

He turns away.

"It's like you're everything and nothing, all at once."

He stepped into the wet grass

"You could be the sun in the sky, or the tiny flecks of gold in an ice, cold river."

Rain hits his cheeks.

"One second you're the air I breathe, then the next, you're the darkness I see when I close my eyes at night."

He starts walking away, but stops and stares into space.

"I can't handle you being my nothing and everything. I can't look at the stars and think of you. Then, close my eyes to see darkness and still think of you."

He starts walking again, his voice fading.

"I can't... Not when you can be anything. Not when you can be the Earth, and not need me to be your moon."

And all that's left is his muddy footprints on the sidewalk.
