Times New Roman Gaster and Arial Gaster. Two ordinary fonts for two ordinary skeletons. They were happy together, and soon had a child. Interestingly, this child was anything but ordinary.

WingDings Gaster. He truly hated his name, but there was nothing to be done about it. So, he merely went by Gaster all his life.

"Dings, come down for dinner!" Arial called up the stairs sweetly.

"One sec." He quickly scanned the rest of the page before slamming the large textbook shut. Dinner was always quiet, because Gaster was usually processing whatever he had been previously reading.

"So, WingDings, what are you studying today?" Roman prodded.

"Quantum physics. Class is tomorrow, and I want to finish the book before I get there." Gaster, at the age of 12, began going to college. He was extremely intelligent, and was usually more familiar with the material than the professor of the course. His photographic memory made school easy.

"How soon will you get to bed?"

"Maybe 2, 3 in the morning. Does it matter?" He waved as he set his dishes in the sink.

"Aren't you ever tired, Dings? I don't want you sleep-deprived at school." Arial asked, concerned for her son.

"I'm fine mom. I'm gonna go finish studying."

Soon, Gaster was getting kicked out of every university he applied to. Due to his intellect, he became rather sarcastic, and corrected professors regularly.

He began inventing, and found it was his passion. He built many machines, and ended up in the news for it. Word spread, and Gaster got a letter from the Royal Scientist, asking him to be his apprentice. Gaster accepted, and the two became inseparable.

Unfortunately, due to unknown circumstances, the Royal Scientist disappeared. He may have been killed in the developing war, or by one of his machines.

After the monsters had been banished Underground, Gaster was elected Royal Scientist. New interns and scientists were hired to the Lab by King Asgore, who were promptly fired. Gaster's introverted nature created a rift between him and the rest of the world, and he spent most of his time in his personal lab.

Soon, Asgore found out Gaster had been experimenting with determination in monsters. Upset, Asgore banned the experimentation on of monsters, upsetting Gaster greatly.

Undeterred, he found a loophole. He created clones out of the material of his palms, and small slivers of his soul.

All went well, until the soul fragments began growing, surprising Gaster. He quickly grew to like these new skeletons. Many years passed, and one day, Gaster was checking the CORE, when a large energy fluctuation occurred, sending him into the void.

The small skeletons found their way out of the lab, and started their life, with no knowledge of their creator.

And, according to a certain shopkeeper, they just "showed up one day, and asserted themselves."

The only evidence such a W. D. Gaster may have existed at one time, is that Sans always felt a piece of him missing, deep in his soul, after discovering a small photo, with the words,

"Don't Forget."

I wrote Gaster's origin for a contest on an Amino, and I decided to rewrite it here, with some modifications.

So yeah. Here!

Love you, my little stars!
