(Y/N) POV

I didn't want it to end. I didn't want our journey to end and the others to leave for the Varden. I had woken up in the middle of the night and Vladmir and I had decided that we didn't want to go to the Varden. I got interrupted from my thoughts as Brom and Eragon came back into the room. "We need to start some heavy questioning. I want to know where in Dras-Leona the Seithr oil was delivered, and where it moved from there. With most possibility the oil was being moved with the help of soldiers or workers. We need to find these people and get one of them to talk", Brom said.
We left the inn and started to look for a warehouse where the oil could've been shipped to. When we got closer to the centre of the city the streets rose to a palace in polished granite. I was surprised at the size of it. The castle was above all buildings except the cathedral. I could see guards standing outside of it. "Who lives there?" Eragon asked. "The ruler of the city, Marcus Tábor. He only answers for the king and his conscience, and the latter has been especially active lately", Brom answered. "Look on your own. We'll meet at the Golden Globe when the sun starts to set." He locked his gaze on Eragon before starting to speak. "And I trust you to not do anything stupid. And (Y/N) I want you to keep an eye on him so that he doesn't make anything stupid." I nodded and Eragon glared like a little child towards me. As we started to walk away I pinched his cheek but he quickly swatted my hand away.
We spent the rest of the day talking to merchandisers and workers. We had a little fun telling jokes or making jokes at our surroundings so the time went by pretty quick. While we talked to the workers, Eragon tried to sound as kind as he could and with our powers combined we finally made someone talk. It was a man who had helped shipping the oil and remembered which warehouse it was moved to. We went to look at the building and I could feel that Eragon was excited. I wasn't. Our journey would soon be over together and Vladmir and I still hadn't told them that we were going to leave. We then went back to the inn. We sat there for an hour and waited for Brom to come back, and when he did he looked really tired. "Did you find out anything Brom?", I asked. "I got to hear a lot of interesting things today, not the least that Galbatorix is coming to visit Dras-Leona within a week." Both me and Eragon looked up in horror. "What?!" Eragon said. Brom leaned himself against the wall. "It seems like Tábor has taken a little too much freedom with his power, so Galbatorix has decided to come here and teach him humility. It's the first time in more than ten years that the king's leaving Urû'baen." "Do you think that he knows about us?" Eragon asked. "Knows about us he does, but I'm not sure that he knows we exist. If he did, we would already be in the ra'zacs claws. This means that whatever we are going to do about the ra'zacs needs to be finished before Galbatorix gets here. We shouldn't be at the least twenty miles close to the him. The thing that speaks to our advantage is that the ra'zacs have to be here to prepare for his arrival." "I want to get the ra'zacs", Eragon said as he balled his fists. I looked down at my hands and I started to fiddle with them. I felt Brom look at me, but I kept my eyes down. "but I can't if it means fighting with the king. He can probably tear me apart." Brom seemed amused by his words. "Carefulness: excellent. And you are completely right, you don't stand a chance against Galbatorix. Now tell me what the two of you found out today. It may make my information right." I saw Eragon just shrugged his shoulders in the corner of my eye. "The most of it was nothing important, but we found someone that knew where they're taking the oil. It's just and old warehouse. We didn't get to know anything more useful." "My day has been a little more adventuerous than yours. I got to hear the same thing, so I went to the warehouse and talked to the workers. It didn't need much of anything to get them to tell me that the bixes with oil has alwayd been shipped from to the palace." "And after that you came back to here?" Eragon asked. "No, I didn't! Don't interrupt me. Then I went to the palace and got invited by the servants. For hours I went around and entertained maids and others with songs and poems - as I asked questions at the same time." Brom slowly put his pipe into his mouth. "It is really amazing how much the servants gets to know. Did you know that the counts have three lovers, and all of them lives in the same tower in the castle?" He shook his head at the words he just said. "Except those interesting bits, I happened to get to know where the oil goes from the palace." "To where...?" Eragon asked him. "Out of town, of course. Every full moon there are two slaves sent to Helgrind with resources for a month. When the Seithr oil comes to Dras-Leona, it's sent away with the resources. The slaves are never sighted again. And one time when someone followed them, he disappeared too." "I thought that the Riders took away the slave trading", Eragon said. "Sadly it came back under the ruling of the king." "Wait, so the ra'zacs are in Helgrind?" I asked him. "Either there or close to it", Brom said. "But if they actually are in Helgrind, they are either at the very bottom, protected by a thick stone door, or higher up, where only their riding animals, Saphira or Vladmir can reach them. Their hideout is probably very hidden, no matter if it is at the top or the bottom." He took a pause to breathe. "If Saphira and I flew around Helgrind, we would be spotted by the ra'zacs- and also all of Dras-Leona." "Well that would be a pretty big problem", I said while laughing a little. "But what if we could go in the place of the slaves? It isn't far to the full moon. We won't get any better moment to get close to the ra'zacs." Brom looked deep in thought due to Eragon's words. "It's risky, in the best case. We will have trouble if they kill the slaves at a distance. We can't hurt the ra'zacs if we can't see them." "We don't really know if the slaves do get killed", Eragon pointed out. "I am sure that they do", Brom answered. "But it is a good thought. If we did that with Saphira hidden close by and a..." He stopped speaking. "That can work, but we have to act fast. We don't have much time if the king is on his way." "Should we make our way out to Helgrind and take a look around? It would be good to see everything in the daylight so we won't get surprised by an ambush", Eragon said. "We can do that later. Tomorrow I will go back to the palace and get to know how we can take the slaves place. But I have to be careful not to wake up any suspisions- spies and officers that knows about the ra'zacs could easily expose me." "I can't believe it; we have actually found them", Eragon said. My stomach dropped at his words. And we would soon leave... "The hardest part is still in front of us, but we have been doing good", Brom said. "If we have luck, you may be having your revenge and the Varden will get ridd of a dangerous enemy. Then it is up to you what happens next." I saw Eragon's eyes then get empty. He probably talked to Saphira. Brom made a gesture for the two of us to go out of the room. He opened the door and I followed after. He closed the door and then turned to me. "You're not coming with us to the Varden, are you?" My eyes widdened at his words. How could he know? "Why would you think that?" I mumbled. "We have travelled long enough for me to know. You haven't looked as happy as usual ever since we were a week away from Dras-Leona. So, you and Vladmir isn't coming with us to the Varden, are you?" I let out a heavy sigh before answering. "No, we're not. And I know that you probably wanted us to, but we don't want to live like that. We want to be free, maybe learn and other things like that, but not being into war." "(Y/N), you and Vladmir can choose whatever path that you'd like without anyone stopping you. It is your own decision to do whatever you like." "Thank you." "Don't worry about it. Now go and get some sleep, you seem to need it."
'Did you hear that Vladmir?'

'Yes. Now we just have to tell Saphira and Eragon about it.'

'Or we just leave. I hate goodbyes and they would maybe try and stop us.'

'Hmm. I'll support you no matter what happens.'

'I love you Vladmir, good night.'

'Sleep well Human.' I felt my heart ache at the choice I made but I don't want to say goodbye to this. It's too painful with goodbyes.
