"In fair London where we lay our scene..."

"That was Shakespeare."

"Crap!"
"..."
"It is a truth universally acknowledged.."

"Austen"

"Dammit!"
"..."
"Two star crossed lovers, whose misadventures piteous overthrows..."

"We are not lovers let alone star crossed, they were not misadventures they were extremely profitable and it is Shakespeare again from the same play! Now Mr Linton will you quieten down so I can do some work and you do yours!"

'I would much rather be doing you.' Mr Linton thought grumpily.
Lilly put down her pen and sighed. She was trying to write down her adventures with a certain statue sat behind the desk next door but she was having trouble even starting. Suddenly all the criticisms of her employer seemed to drop down on her all at once: What are you going to write? Who would believe you? Who would buy a book written by a woman? At this last one Lillian bristled, there were plenty of great female authors put there and she would be one of them!
Lillian contemplated like she had never contemplated before, until she came up with an ingenious idea: Storm and Silence. Nobody could have taken that one... Right?

~Meanwhile, in our universe~

"Crap, crap, crap!"
Nate was frantically wracking his brains. Only Mr Cliffley would give out an essay over the summer. Nate had to write an essay on a historical writing and in his signature move of procrastinate like it's going out of fashion, he had, of course, left it to the night before school started and he had to hand it in. This was not usually a problem but he couldn't think of a piece to do it on. Nate didn't think he could survive binge reading Pride And Prejudice, nor did he think he could skim read through Romeo And Juliet. Dammit! Nate took out his pocket watch, which in his opinion every classy gentleman should have, and checked the time. It was almost eight soon it would be too late to do anything, desperate times meant desperate measures had to be taken and so Nate went down to The Forbidden Basement in his house to look for something to help him.

Oooh! So this is my entry for sir Rob's fan competition so please vote on chapters so I can win! But of course it's about the taking part (but winning is good too) 😉. I thought I would add a twist to my fan fiction and of course Nate is me because why not? My narcissism combined with my overall laziness prods me to write myself in and not fabricate a new character. See ya in the next one! J-N
