Finding True Love

Clary's POV

After we got back home from being in Paris we found out that Jace was attacked by a greater demon and Magnus could not get all the venom out. We decided to go visit Jace so we could talk and say our goodbyes if necessary.

"Hey Jace, Izzy told us what happened. How are you feeling?" I ask.

"Better knowing your actually talking to me," he said looking into my eyes. I can tell he feels bad for what he has done to me but I will never forget.

"What happened?" Alec ask obviously not enjoying how close Jace and I are.

"Raphael had told Simon and Izzy he heard talk on where Valentine might be. When we got their it broke out into a fight. I knew I couldn't make it up to you for what I have done but I also knew you would be heartbroken if Jonathon died." Jace explains.

"Wait, this happened to you because he went after my brother?" I ask shocked Jace would do that.

"Yes, Jonathon wanted to rip my head off after we got back," Jace said in a little bit of pain. I look over at Alec how looks worried for is parabatai.

"Everything's going to be okay. You can get through this Jace," I said trying to comfort both Jace and Alec.

"No I won't Clary. Magnus is shocked I've made it this long. I just had to see you one last time." Jace said raising a hand to place it on my check.

I feel the tears starting to burn in my eyes but I blink them away not wanting to cry.

Then Valentine burst through the door to the infirmary. Alec and I both shot up ready to fight.

"Run Clary! He wants you! Your blood!" Jace said trying to sit up.

"Lay down!" I order him and he did.

I look over at Alec and see the worry in his eyes. I grab my stele out of my boot and he nodded his head knowing what I was about to do.

"Hello Clarissa. Come with me and no one will get hurt." He said.

"To late for that," I say pointing at Jace, "you already hurt someone."

He laughed as if he actually never had a heart. Alec glanced a me and I turned on my heels and ran as fast as I could out of the infirmary. Once I was in the hallway I used the stele to make me a portal.

Not really knowing where to go that was safe I went to the last place Valentine would look. My old home. I activate my deflect runes so no one can track me and jumped through the portal. I looked around be every careful just in case circle members were here but no one was. I realize knowing I'm alone. I check my phone and make sure my locations was turned off and luckily it was. I went to the kitchen first and checked to see if their was anything I could eat.

While I was looking I get a fire message from Jonathon. 'Valentine got away stay where you are at he is not able to track you. Everyone is okay just a few buries.' I was relieved when he said everyone was okay. Since I know its not safe to send a fire message I portal across town and sent him one in reply so they would know I'm safe. Once I got back to the apartment I started feeling noxious and ran to the bathroom.

"Clarissa!" How the hell did he find me. I locked the door and drew a portal rune leaving my phone behind just in case. This time I went somewhere not even Valentine would risk going, Idris.

Once I was their I ran to fine Imagon, Jace's grandmother. Once I fine her office I knock really fast.

"Come in," she said, a little annoyed.

"Valentine is after me for my blood, attacked the Institute, and Jace is slowly dying." I said with not taking a breath.

"Portal please," she asked.

I drew the portal and Imageon grabbed my hand and we were back in the infirmary with everyone.

"Hey I can't be here! I left for a reason!" I shout at Imageon because she pulled me through the portal. "Valentine wouldn't dare go after me in Idris!" I shout pulling my stele out making a portal but one opened in front of me and I was pulled through.
