The days dragged on after you left LA. You thought about Emilio every day, everything somehow connected back to him. It got to the point where you couldn't even go on YouTube to watch anything anymore, because his videos would always come up.
Your friends told you that you were too hung up on a guy you knew for three months, but they didn't understand. They didn't understand what the two of you had. They didn't experience it. It was something real.
For the first month after you returned home, before you stopped using YouTube altogether, you saw that Emilio was missing from many of the Martinez Twins videos. And the ones he was in, he didn't exactly look too happy.
He'd tried to call you. Dozens of times. But you never answered him. Long distance relationships never worked out, and you couldn't drop everything to move to LA. Your entire life was built in Ontario, and that was where you planned to keep it.
After a couple of weeks, he stopped calling. It broke your heart that you had to hurt him like that, but you knew it was for both of your own goods. The pain would go away eventually. It had to.
For the first time in the several months you'd been home from LA, you decided to try and go on a date. You were going out to dinner with Dean, a boy from one of your classes at school. You dressed nicely and were waiting for him to come pick you up, when you felt your phone buzz.
Text From: Dean
Sorry, can't make it tonight. Take this replacement?
Then the doorbell rang. You sighed and put your phone down. He thought he could just give you some other guy to go out with? You rolled your eyes as you opened the door, but nearly fainted at the sight you saw.
Emilio Martinez was standing on your doorstep, wearing a suit and holding a single red rose. He smiled when he saw you. "Hello, y/n."
You blinked, making sure you were actually seeing him and not hallucinating. "E-Emilio...?"
He nodded. "I had to come. Just one more date."
You blinked back tears as you hugged him tightly. "It's you," you said as you buried your face in his neck. "It's really, really you."
You felt him nod. "It is me."
You pulled away from him to grab your phone and purse, then shut the door behind yourself. "Was this like, a master plan? Was I ever even going out with Dean?"
He shook his head and took your hand. "I pay him money. One thousand dollars to ask you out, then bail last minute."
Your face blushed slightly red. "I'm worth a thousand dollars to you? Just one night with me?"
He stopped walking and turned to face you. He gently put his hand beneath your chin, and listed it so your eyes met. "A night with you is priceless." He gently connected his lips to yours for a moment, before pulling away so you could both get in the car. You recognized the driver as none other than Emilio's friend, Jake.

At the end of the night, you and Emilio were sitting in the back seat of the car laughing when it pulled up to your house. You looked out the window, and your heart broke all over again. You had to say goodbye again. You turned to look at him, and gently kissed his lips.
"Don't get so depressed this time, okay?" you asked him when you pulled away from the kiss. "I'm not worth that. Please, just carry on with your life normally."
He gently cupped your cheek with his hand and looked into your eyes. "What if I move here? Then we could be together?"
You sighed and shook your head. "You can't do that. Your brother is in LA, your friends, your life."
"I left it all behind once, when I moved from Spain."
"I won't let you do that for me." You kissed his cheek, then opened the door. "Goodbye, Emilio." You got out of the car and looked at him one last time before closing it and walking up the pavement to your front door.
Your heart felt heavy. You couldn't say goodbye again. You couldn't lose him. You found yourself taking deep, ragged breaths as you turned around to run back to the car. You threw the door open and tackled Emilio in a hug.
"I wanna come back to LA," you said as you held onto him tightly. "I wanna go back and be with you, and maybe move there if things are going well. I can't lose you again."
He hugged you tightly. "What about your life here?"
You pulled away from the hug. "Screw Canada, I wanna be with you." You connected your lips to his passionately, as Jake began to clap.
"Go gather everything you want to bring," Jake told you. "We have three hours until our flight."
