Its based off the original story of pokemon origins just slightly different as it follows Angel Halliwell as he joins red on his journey to complete the pokedex

The battle commenced with red taking the first move, "Ember" he called out, I watched as Charmander's swung his tail hitting Geodude full on, but like you anticipated it took the attack eazily.

"Scratch" red said, as chamander did as its trainer instructed, the attack once again hit head on, but it once again didn't do much damage, only cause geodude to move back a little.
"ngh" I heard and turned to look at my brown haired friend, he himself looked like he was in deep thought, Charmander looked back at his trainer awaiting his instructions on what to do next.
"What's wrong charmander looks kinda worried there" I heard Brock ask, but still had my eyes on Red, worried about him. "If you aren't gonna act" I heard and turned to see him Brock shout "tackle" and see his Geodude tackle Charmander back.
"You let your pokemon take that" Brock said.
"Use scratch" I heard Red say as Charmander did as instructed.
"its not very effective" I heard the girl say.
"Nope" I said back slightly worried.
"Again scratch" Red said again as Charmander used scratch once more, only just to get knocked back.
"You don't seem to have learned anything" Brock said.
"what?" red asked confused.
"I'm pretty sure I asked if you knew about pokemon types and characteristics" Brock explained. "Pokemon types all Match up in differnet ways" he continued,
"Match up?" red asked again confused.
" Fire type pokemon are weak against rock type pokemon.....you do understand that right" Brock finished with a slight smirk.
"I don't get it what are you trying to say" Red said with a mixture of confusion and annoyance.
"Well you do have other poksmon avilable don't you?" Brock asked back.
"Huh" Red said.
"If you try to battle with only charmander it is to difficult to defeat rock type pokemon" Brock tod Red.
"In other words strategize and use your other pokemon that you caught" I shouted eye twitching a little, as everyone looked at me a little suprised, "you can switch your pokemon in battles" I told him.
Red looked back and took out another pokeball before mumbleing "I see".
"Your friend is right, battling while switching pokemon, Its a ligitemit battling style" Brock told him.
"Charmander come back" He said bring back charmander to its pokeball, "go Nidoran" he said throwing its pokeball releasing the pokemon.
"Double kick!" he said as Nidoran did as instructed, jumping and landing two kicks on Geodude as its life gage went down.
