The Winter Showcase ~ Dana Vaughns Fanfic (IM5)

Let's go to the Beach pt. 2

Dana's POV

"Different? What the hell does Justine mean by 'different'? We all finally look away from Nate and just look at each other. I look at Justine, who's just casually resuming her game of Temple Run. "Okay, who wants to get ice cream with me?" Gabe asks, breaking the silence. "I do!" Justine replies happily and pauses her game. "Me too!" Dalton says. All of them get up and walk to the boardwalk of stores not far from here. I can't help but stare at Justine's butt as they walk away. Damn, she looks good. 

"Stop staring at Justine's butt, Dana," Will says and laughs. "I wasn't looking at her," I reply and scratch the back of my head. "Well, you certainly weren't looking at Gabe's," Cole says, which causes everyone to laugh. "Do you think Nate knows we're here?" Maddie asks. "I hope he doesn't," I reply and lay down on my back. "I wanna say hi to him!" Jason says and starts running towards to Nate. I swear, there's something wrong with that kid. 

Jason walks up to Nate and they give each other a bro hug. They both start talking for a while until I see Jason point to the direction where Justine is. Nate smiles huge and they both say goodbye to each other. Jason walks back over to us and plops himself down on his towel. All of us just look at him as Jason just stares at the leaves of the palm tree. "Well, are you going to tell us or what?" Maddie says irritated. 

"Tell you guys what?" Jason asks us confused. All of groan. "What you and Nate talked about!" Cole replies. "Ohhh," Jason realizes, "we just said whaddup and you know talked about guy stuff. Then, he asked me who I was here with and I said you guys and Justine. He seemed happy that Justine was here, so he asked me where she was. Then, I said she was over there!" Jason finishes and points to the ice cream shop at the boardwalk. 

"Seems like Nate still likes Justine," Will says and smirks at me. I roll my eyes. "I don't care," I lie and rest on my forearms. "We all know you like Justine," Maddie says. "Yeah, it purdy obvious," Jason laughs. I groan in reply. "The feels!" Cole shouts, which causes everyone but me to laugh. 

I see Gabe, Dalton, and Justine walking back from a distance. They're all laughing as Dalton holds ice cream in his hand and Gabe feeds Justine some of his ice cream. I guess Gabe and Justine are sharing. I wanna share ice cream with Justine... God, just stop it Dana! Then, I see Nate taking a notice of her and smiles brightly. Gabe, Dalton and Justine are getting closer to us until Nate runs up to them. Gabe nudges Justine and nods in Nate's direction. Justine smiles. Nate gives Dalton and Gabe a hug and sadly, Justine one too. They start talking until I see Nate asking Justine something and Justine nods. They wave goodbye to each other, but I see Nate and Justine walking together towards the other direction?? What the hell is going on!!

Justine's POV

 Dalton, Gabe, and I are at the ice cream shop, waiting for our ice cream. "So, Nate's here," Dalton starts off. "And?" I say and laugh. "Well, it just seems weird how your ex is back," Gabe replies. I shrug, "We weren't really a thing I guess," I start to say, "You know everyone has boyfriends and girlfriends in middle school, but it doesn't really mean anything." "Well, he looked different," Gabe says. "Yeah! Like a GOOOD different!" Dalton shouts, "He had abs and everything! And did you see his hair?!"

I laugh. "Well, I guess puberty hit him good," I reply. Gabe laughs. "It hit him really good," he adds. "One cup of chocolate swirl and a medium sundae!" A voice shouts. All of get up and Gabe and Dalton take their ice cream. We start walking back to the rest of the guys, but I can't help to notice how delicious Gabe's sundae looks. "You want some?" Gabe smirks at me. I nod eagerly, which causes him to laugh. He feeds me a spoonful of his ice cream and I sigh in delight. "I knew she woould want your ice cream," Dalton says and laughs. 

Gabe nudges me and I look at him. "What?" I ask him confused. He nods his head in a direction in front of him. I look up and see Nate running towards us. "Nate?" I mumble. "Ooo, are he's shirtless too," Dalton whispers. I roll my eyes at him and then Nate finally reaches us. I smile and Nate returns it. "Hey guys!" Nate says and hugs all of us. "Whaddup man! How are you?" Gabe asks. "We haven't seen you in forever," Dalton adds. "I've been good," Nate replies and stares at me, "and I'm really glad we moved back."
