" You are funny." I tell Alec as we walk up to my door.

" I try to be."

" Thank you."

" For what?" he asks.

" Taking time out of your life to help me learn to fight."

" It's no problem Luna. I hope that I teach you well."

" I do too." I tell him.

" Well, I have you home now."

" That is very true."

" Goodnight Luna. Have a great evening."

" Goodnight Alec. May you do the same." I reply to him.

Alec waits for me to open and enter my house before he leaves back to his car. It has been a great day.

" Oh darling you're home!" my mother says. " Come say hello to our new neighbors."

I enter the living room to see the one and only Logan.

" WHAT! NO. NO. NO. NO."

" What's wrong Luna?" my father asks.

" Nothing. I have homework to do."

I rush up the stairs and into my room, slamming the door behind me. No. He can't be our new neighbor. He can stalk me now. He..he..he can try and do something again. This can't happen at all. I grab my phone and realize I don't have Alec's number. This can't be happening.

Monday. The best day for me. I can finally get to Alec and tell him the horrible news. Logan has been trying to get buddy buddy with my father all weekend and it's driving me insane. If he gets my father's trust, bad things can only take off from there. I enter in the school building and immediately start looking for Alec. I have no clue where to find him, but I will. I see one of the guys he normally hangs with during school hours and rush up to him.

" Hi. Have you seen Alec?"

" Um, yeah, he's in the library." he responds.

" Great."

I rush off to the library in hopes of catching him before the bell rings.

" Good morning Luna." Mr. Cane roars as I enter.

" Good morning Mr. Cane."

" Do you have those recommendation lists ready for me to print?"

" No sir, I have a few more summaries to write, but I will have them ready by Wednesday." I say as I look for Alec.

" Are you looking for something?"

" No sir. I can take care of it myself."

I finally find Alec as Mr. Cane says he's off to the office. I run up to him, half-scaring him as I do so.

" Luna, what's wrong?"

" Logan."

" What about him?" he asks in concern.

" He's my new neighbor."

" What?"

" Are you serious?" Alec asks me as we sit at the lunch table.

" Yeah. When you dropped me off, I went inside and he was there with my mother telling me to meet our neighbors."

" What did you say?"

" I said no and ran upstairs to get away from him. The bad part is that he's trying to earn my father's trust which can't be good, right?" I say.

" No, not good at all."

Alec bites into his sandwich and I sit there watching. He looks at me and then gets up leaving his tray on the table. I don't see where he goes, but I hope he comes back. A few of his friends come and sit at the table starting a conversation about new skateboards. I see Logan in the distance and I put my head down, hoping he doesn't see me. Apparently, he did.

" Hey Luna. May I speak to you?"

" No. I don't want to talk."

" Too bad." he whispers in my ear as he grabs my arm.

He gets me up and takes me away from the table. My safe zone. We walk from my table over to the drink stand. He orders a coke for him and a sprite for me.

" So, what was I going to say. Oh yeah, you and me this Friday. Be ready by seven."

" I'm not going anywhere with you." I say.

" Yes you are. We are going out."

" I don't want to date you. You are a pig and you know what you did."

" I was drunk. Please, let me make it up to you. That's all I want to do."

" Well, you can do that by leaving me alone." I tell him.

I try to walk away, but he pulls me closer to him. He has me pressed up against his chest and we are looking into each other's eyes.

" Please go this date with me. It would make your father very happy."

" LUNA! Are you okay?" Alec asks me as he pulls me away from Logan.

" Get me away from him."

" Let's go."

Alec and I start walking away when Logan comes up behind us and pulls me back. Alec forms a fist and gets ready to hit Logan when our principal comes up to the three of us.

" Is everything okay over here?"

" Yes Mr. Pepper, Alec here was just trying to take Luna here back to their table, but I still need to talk to her." Logan says.

" Luna, is everything okay?" Mr. Pepper questions.

Logan pinches my arm and I try not to cry.

" Everything is fine. Thank you for being concerned."

He hesitates for a moment, then walks away. I look at Alec and give him a look to stop before a fight happens.

" You will be ready at seven on Friday. Do I make myself clear?" Logan says.

" I can't."

" Why not?"

" I have a date with Alec." I quickly say.

" Ha. Did he get permission from daddy? That's what I though. You're going on a date with me not him. Besides he's a loser. You can do so much better."

Logan pushes me towards Alec and walks off like he has accomplished something. Alec takes me back to our table and sits me down.

" You need to eat." he says.

" I don't want to. I have a date with Logan. My life is a goner."

" Please? You promised me."

I think back to me promising him I would eat and sigh. I never break my promises, so I pick up the taco and start eating it. Alec rubs my back and continues to eat his lunch. Can my life get any worse right now?
