AN: sorry this is so short, but I've working on other fics to hopefully get out this and next month. Enjoy! Or don't, whatever floats your boat.

***********

It was stupid. I felt stupid.

Curled up in the gazebo, my head in my knees to hide the tears streaming down my expression, I got progressively more fed up for not doing anything. Each time the terrible memory of earlier plagues my thoughts on repeat just multiplies that feeling twofold;

***

"Yo~ sex-ay, fine ass you got there. What's a man gotta do to get your digits, huh?"

"..."

"Mika?"

"*sigh*..."

All I'd wanted was to walk around town window shopping with Naomi and Suzu for a bit tonight without anything going wrong. On our way back to Naomi's car, we just had to pass a nearby convenience store when some creep was hanging around.

"Uck, seriously?! It's people like you that make this world a bad place."

"He's not worth it Suzu, let's just go..."

"Fine, black haired bitch! Be that way,"

"..."

I let out the breath I was unconsciously holding after we'd changed streets.

"Hey, Anderson, are you alright?"

"...Yeah, I'm alright. Naomi, your car's just up there, right?"

"Oh, yeah, it is."

Speeding up my pace, once we'd closed the doors on the car I plastered a smile on my face, insisting that the incident hadn't gotten to me.

"Princess?" Suddenly brought out of my thoughts, I looked up in slight shocked to find Erik in front of me. His whole face was filled with worry as he took a seat in a chair next to mine. "What's got you so upset? Did something happen while you were out with your friends?"

I hesitated, not wanting him to worry, but needing to tell him what happened to ease myself a little. "I was catcalled by some creep near the convenience store..." Once the tears started to flow again, it felt nice to have Erik take the back of his thumb and gently wipe them away. His other hand went down to my chin, tilting my head up to face him.

"Are you ok?" I could tell that Erik's face was sincere inside out. It made me feel a bit lighter, knowing how much he truly cared about me, but at that moment I wasn't 'ok'.

"..." My voice locked on me like it had before, and I was choking up despite not remembering the last time I cried. Unable to speak my mind, I motioned for Erik to stand up with me. As he did, I approached and let my head find solace against Erik's chest. Without another word, I started sobbing. Taken aback at first, he was none the less quick to hold me in his embrace, sharing his warmth around me. It was only then when I realized how cold I was, but that didn't matter.

Continuing to sob in Erik's arms, he started gently swaying us back and forth. It was oddly comforting, and it felt good to finally let my emotions out. I could hear his steady heartbeat, the soothing sound, as Erik held me gingerly to his heart as if I were a valuable treasure. Sniffing through my stuffy nose, Erik held me tighter against him, as if it were his promise to never let me go. The feeling I got while in his arms was indescribable, it never failed to make me feel wanted, warm, and safe.

It was different when I was around him than when I was with his brothers, and it didn't feel like it was just his incubus charm. At first glance I thought there was more to him than shamelessly flirting all the time, and thankfully I was right. Turns out, there was a totally different Erik under his skin-deep mask, one of which I've grown to love with all my heart.

Pulling away slightly, Erik brought his hand back to my chin once again and brought my view back up to him. There was something therapeutic about looking up into his purple irises like this. "I'm sorry to hear that that happened to you, I wish I were there to give that fiend a piece of my mind... Do you feel any better, princess?" Erik's soothing tone of voice was calming to listen to. I sniffed again and nodded in reply, accepting Erik's hand atop of my head as he began to pet over my hair with a soft smile. He was so caring, that was one of the many things I loved about him.

As I looked up at Erik, my attention was drawn to the stars in the sky behind his head for a moment. "The stars are pretty tonight," my mouth formed a frail smile.

Erik nodded, "They couldn't ever compare to your beauty, but the stars do make up this perfect night sky." My cheeks tinted pink and Erik chuckled, "Well, almost perfect."

"Hmm?" Tilting my head to the side in confusion, I gasped in surprise when Erik grabbed me by my waist. As he spun me around in his arms, Erik started towards the stairs of the gazebo. After he'd finished spinning around, he brought us down the steps and out into our grassy yard.

My incubus looked down to me once more, his loving gaze melting me heart and drawing a more genuine smile to my face. "The stars will, however, make the perfect lights." Bowing his head down, Erik's right hand was presented to me. "May I have this dance, my sweet princess?"

My face heated a tad more, and my hand found itself in Erik's. "It would be my pleasure," His smile growing at my response, mine followed suit as Erik lifted my hand to his lips for a short, chaste kiss. I bowed slightly to my fair knight before moving my hands to go around his neck as the love of my life returned his hands to my hips.

Leading us in a waltz, we began to dance about the yard, the many stars above us illuminating the sky. Seeing the stars in Erik's eyes had me getting lost in them, further lightening my mood. His sweet gaze made my negative thoughts from earlier disparage and it sent my heart a flutter.

As something lit up the sky, it caught my attention and I pointed up to it, "Look Erik, a shooting star!"

We paused our dance as Erik turned to look at the dazzling beam of light flying above. "What a stunning sight," he put his arm around my shoulder. I giggled as I leaned into his gesture and beamed as we watched the sparkling star. "Perhaps it came here to grant you a wish, princess." I only had to think on it for a moment before I'd decided what to wish for;

"As cheesy as it sounds, I wish that we'll never leave each other, and that our love is everlasting." Looking over to Erik, he look momentarily stunned before facing me once again.

"What in the worlds happened for fate to bring such a joy as you into my life?" He briefly caressed his lips over mine and I gasped slightly, not expecting it. Erik chuckled, "I'm not so sure what you see in me, but in you I see a wonderful princess; beautiful inside and out."

I shushed Erik with my finger as he finished his sentence and shook my head, "Erik, you're one of the best things to ever happen to me. Please don't put yourself down like that," this time I surprised him with a kiss, but it lasted a few seconds longer. Closing our eyes, for the moment we lost ourselves holding each other. It felt almost magical whenever Erik and I shared a kiss, a touch, an embrace, and I vowed to cherish every moment I'd have with him. We pulled away with a sigh, our noses touching, "I want to be with you for the rest of my life and beyond. I love you Erik."

"My love for you is also everlasting, my princess," he cooed back to me, the last words we shared before kissing once more, continuing our slow waltz around the yard, under the city of stars that lit up the night.
