one of the most crucial parts of a cover/graphic is the text, so i decided to make a little compilation of my favorite, go-to type styles so that you can get some inspiration for your own creations!

one of the most crucial parts of a cover/graphic is the text, so i decided to make a little compilation of my favorite, go-to type styles so that you can get some inspiration for your own creations!

i've never seen something like this before in a tutorials book, and i'm not even sure if it's useful for you guys or not, but if you find it helpful, i'd love to do more things like this!

also, feel free to use these styles in your works--they're pretty simple, so i can't exactly "claim them as my own" and force you to credit me or anything. so don't worry about credit or anything and you're welcome to steal any styles that appeal to you. :)

how to create: find an imessage or text bubble and simply place your text over it. always align your text to the side from which the bubble is coming from. for example, in this example, the bubble is originating from the right side, so the text should be right-aligned.

how to create: duplicate your text layer, place it behind the first text layer, and then choose a bolder color. then make the top text layer transparent with a black outline. play around with the positioning of the colored text layer beneath it by moving it down and the to left a few pixels.

how to create: place a rectangle (colored a few shades darker than your text) halfway down your text and use a clipping mask to crop it to fit the text. you could experiment with this by angling the rectangle for another look.
