Andrea pov:
I started to drift off to sleep until I heard my mother yell my name.

I smacked my teeth and huffed as I jogged downstairs.

"Yes?" I asked softly losing my attitude

"I'm in the kitchen!" She called out and I walked in there.

I looked and saw a man sitting at the table.

He was kinda ugly. He looked at me and smiled and I gave him a fake smile.

"Nice to finally meet you Andrea." He said standing up.

I pretended I didn't hear him and began talking to my mother

"He just said something to you Andrea." She said smacking my arm with her wooden spoon.

"Aww shhh." I began saying.

"Say that word I dare you." My mom said turning fully holding her spoon.

"Shhhnack!" I said changing the word.

"Mhm."

I turned and the guy was standing next to me.

I jumped and he chuckled.

He stuck out his hand.

"Steve." He said making his hot breath cover my face.

I coughed slightly and smacked his hand giving a high five.

"No need to explain my name." I said walking out the kitchen.

I slipped on my slides and left the house.

I looked at the sky and how the sun began to set.

I started to walk around the block.

I got closer to the end of my walk and I heard commotion.

I started to walk to it and it was a roaring crowd.

"WORLDSTAR!!!" A kid said holding his phone to catch the action.

I pushed past everyone to see to boys fighting.

I couldn't really make out the faces so I waited till the end.

The fight ended and the winning kid stood up.

He had not one scratch while the loser clearly needed medical assistance.

The winner lifted his head to reveal Jalen.

He smiled and began bowing like it was a performance.

He looked at me and slightly smiled.

The crowd started dissolving until it was only us.

I shoved my hands in my jogger pockets and walked towards him.

"Hey." He said

"Sup"

"What was that fight about anyways?" I asked curiously.

"Nun of ya business ok?"

"Ok jeez no need to be rude." I mumbled causing him to look at me.

"I know you're not talking. I tried to say hi to you and get to know you and the first thing you do is be rude. You expect someone not to be rude back."

"I wasn't rude."

"Hey I'm ignoring you." He mocked me from earlier.

"I'm sorry." I said lifting my head.

He shrugged.

"Whatever. Look maybe you were rude cause my first impression sucked. I apologise if it was that. Wanna start again?" He asked looking down at my face.

"Yeah. Um I would really like that." I said smiling, showing my pearly whites.

"Hi. I'm Jalen Brooks." He said smiling shaking my hand.

"Hi. I'm Andrea Hilson." I said

We stood outside talking and getting to know each other.

We exchanged numbers and I walked home.
