Proper Way to Use a Tint

I don't want any one of you to feel that what I write here is completely inaccurate or goes against your experience with the product itself. Not properly prepping your lips before applying the tint vastly affects the results of your experience (I'm not saying you do this every day if you use the tint daily but I just want to let you all know that I did professionally prepare for this review for efficient results).

Now this tip can also apply for lipsticks, creams, matte, or any type of lip coloring product you use. By doing this, you maximize what the product offers.

Tip:

Exfoliate the dead skin cells. You can use a home-made sugar scrub mixed with lemon and honey. You not only get rid of the dead skin cells, you'll also see a lightening effect on your lips, especially if you have damaged ones.  You can make it a weekly routine where you can only scrub it twice a week  as not to damage the regeneration cycle.

Just a brief note, as much as these lip tints would claim to be moisturizing, they never felt that way to me, I still feel like I'll split my lips whenever I don't dab lip balm on top of it; so I wouldn't expect much of the moisturizing or hydrating side from each product. But I have observed that the thicker the consistency of the product, the longer it lasts and the more comfortable I feel.

Tip #2 (totally new beautiful discovery)

Use a lip pencil/liner as a base. One of the most annoying thing is lip tints would normally settle quite beautifully only on the healthy and undamaged part of your lips. By using a lip pencil to fill in the whole lips would even out the tint, application, and make the tint last longer cause lip pencils on their own are long lasting (and also quite dry). Choose a color that can easily blend with the color of your tint and a color close to your original lip color.

P.S. I didn't apply a lip pencil base when I used the products, so all the reviews will be purely the tints' performance on their own.

Tip #3
Dab a little lipstick/use it as base. Since lip tints dont settle on the damaged part of your lips which makes those parts even more visible, wearing just a lip tint would kind of be an awkward look. I would suggest dabbing a little lipstick fully on your lips and applying the tint in the inside of your lips and then spread it outwards. The color of the lipstick can be darker or lighter than your chose tint depending on what kind of look you want to achieve.

I use shade #1 Yadah Lip Crayon with #6 The Face Shop: Rose Garden

Tip #4
Thick overnight layer of Carmex (Original) Lip Balm. I promise, the moment you wake up, you would love how smooth and hydrated your lips are and how your lip products simply glide and sit on your lips comfortably.
