As she ate the hand-crafted chocolate, slowly indulging in its taste, tears slowly started to form in her eyes. It reminded her of boundless feelings, from bitter to sweet. The bitterness of shame, guilt, regret and longing to the sweetness of kindness, respect, hope and love mixing themselves in the usually taken-for-granted treat.

The chocolate’s taste and form reminded her so much of the person that gave them. A tear treacherously escaped from her eyes, the regret and guilt building up inside her.

How could she deny everything? How could she be so cruel, and still loved? How did she manage to let that person go?

Her mind replayed everything that happened on that fateful day. How that person smiled so brightly in front of her, giving her an elegantly wrapped box of homemade chocolates, then cried after telling her everything then left. She couldn’t move. Confusion and fear clouded her mind.

In the end, she said and did nothing.
